They are two types of candy, licorice and hard candy coating. I can’t see how there is anything that wouldn’t be vegan.

Q: Is there orange in here?

It has been awhile since I bought this product but the last time there was no orange in the bag. As a matter of fact, I have never seen orange in this candy.

Q: Are these skinnier than good n plenty? I like the skinny ones better?

They used to be skinnier than Good 'n Plenty but not any more. They changed the recipe, shape and size some time during 2022. They're more like a jellybean now both in shape and size. The outside coating is still a hard candy but is much thicker than before. The inside tastes more like a black jellybean than a piece of licorice. Their description says 800 to a pound but the bags I bought (directly from Jelly Belly) had fewer than 250. Very disappointed.

Q: Why can’t items that are fragile be packed separately from larger heavy items so they don’t get crushed in transit. Why can’t items be replaced?

Because these licorice pastels have an outer coating that can be cracked, it makes sense not to ship them with heavy items. They are really delicious!
