The first one I got was tore at the top corner, quality controll issue I'm guessing. Amazon made it right and sent me a replacement. I have no complaints since. Based on that, yes buy it! It worked just fine.

I like that it is manageable for me. Easy to grab for a quick skim. Extension handle seems to be quite sturdy. There is button attachment for the skimmer basket itself to handle. This joint appears to be flimsy. With the pressure of gliding in water it will bend that directions. I have been just flipping the basket over to glide in reverse direction and it will straighten out. Problem solved.

Cheap handle came bent. Still good value for money and functioned well for cleaning out my small pond. Not adequate size for a legit pool. Perfect for inflatable pool, small pond, ect. I did not pay much for this item and did not expect a lot. Overall satisfied.

UPDATED REVIEW - 4/17/2015 - Had to purchase another Pool Skimmer after finding out the other one which everyone had literally torn the whole shed and house apart looking for the original and only when my SON FOUND IT HIDDEN - BUSTED; he had to call his children forward... my grandson was trying to take the telescopic rods apart and it didn't work and did his "Whack-mack-doodles" (banging) to try to separate them so he could have a pretend "Light Sabre Sword" until one neighbor caught him and was going to tell his parents, he got scared and hid it and totally forgot about it. SIGH! Thia is a replacement and he's been warned - the other one suffered "Severe Trauma" whereas photos would be too graphic to post and it wound up in the scrap yard (to be recycled). The general idea here is - KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN - ESPECIALLY LITTLE BOYS WHO ARE MISCHIEVOUS!+++++++++++++++++++++++++++Does wonders to get everything not just leaves, grass, but also pool toys out of the pool without having to break your back! Just the perfect size for Large Small sized Above Ground Inflatable Pools, but will also work with under ground and above ground pools as well; as being a secondary accessory - not for pool cleaning but rather to collect all those pool toys from Fun Balls / Ballz to other Floating objects out of the way to be put away.so it doesn't clog up your filter!

The extension pole seems to be pretty durable but the head of the skimmer is very wobbly and doesn't seem like it actually fits the pole correctly.

at this price point & prime shipping I'm very happy. Just have reasonable expectations. I grew up with a pool, and no, this isn't the best version of a skimmer available, especially for a large pool-- but at this price its pretty darn good! we have a large stock tank for cows and it drives me crazy that I cant dump and scrub it daily like I do with other animals water containers. so I got this. it works great for this purpose and I would guess it'd work well for the small pools that many people in my area have, you know the blow up above ground pools/kiddie pools, hot tub, backyard fish ponds...etc of the like. if you have a really large permanent pool, or in ground pool, don't expect this to cut it as your only skimmer. it removes larger debris well but there is always some fine dirt that escapes it. I'm overall totally happy with the purchase so far. if it doesn't hold up reasonably well, I will come back& edit the review...

I use this for a seven person hot tub. Works great. Gets most debris. Mere specks of stuff can get thru the screen material, in other words, a speck less than the size of a period in 12 point font. But everything else gets scooped up. Too small for thorough cleaning of an entire swimming pool, but would still be useful to get the occasional leaf or other small mess, to avoid the hassle of getting out your giant pole skimmer.

Product is good and works as advertised. However I bought it as a shorter handle for my other pool care tools. That said, the end connection is too small and also has the tabs opposite of every other tool I own. Making it not very useful unless you only use the net that comes with it. Still nice to get around the pool without a 10 foot pole.
