BMW Airbag Scan/Reset Tool B800

Item shipped quickly. Upon receipt, I quickly plugged into the OCD inside of my 1997 e38. Like some other reviewers, it did not reset the airbag light. I then attached the 20-pin connector and plugged in under the hood. Performed a scan and it cleared the fault and reset the light. Eventually that light will go on again, as it does from time to time, so this is a good tool to have especially for the price. One negative note, the instruction booklet that comes with the unit is horrendous. Aside from numerous misspellings, the directions are somewhat confusing.

Based on the reviews I was not super confident but decided to give this tool a try. My situation: I had not worked on a more modern bmw in a while when I replaced the driver seat in my newly-acquired 1998 e36 318ti with a junkyard seat. I did so while listening to the car radio, which caused an airbag fault light. I attempted to use this tool several times to reset the light and received the communication error message. I tried all the techniques listed in the manual to get it working with no luck.I FINALLY USED THE OBD-2 to 20 pin adapter provided with the tool and plugged in under the hood. The tool worked immediately!!!Better yet, when it at first appeared the tool was failing to reset the airbag light, reading the actual code revealed the new seat had a blown seat belt locking device - made sense since the junkyard seat was from a car that had been t-boned hard. So I swapped in my old seat belt recepticle and this tool extinguished the airbag fault light!When in doubt, try the adapter and read the manual...

BMW E39, Worked Great! While changing out the window regulator on my 1998 540i I had the airbag removed from the door and turned the key on to move the window during removal. This set a hard SRS Code for the Airbag. Use the round pin connector in the engine compartment pass side NOT the OBD II connector. Code cleared!

I picked this up at an Amazon locker and then within 10 minutes had read and cleared the airbag codes on my 1998 323is in the parking lot. The manual is broken English, but is accurate enough to figure out how to use the tool. My SRS light had come on after removing my seats for a thorough cleaning without disconnecting the battery. I’m definitely keeping this around in case I remove them again.

Doesn't work on a 2003 BMW Z4. Will need to get another tool. Please read more reviews if you car is a 2003, it doesn't work on many cars that year.

The instructions were broken english however it worked as intended and it also fixed my parking brake light somehow while clearing the airbag error. Good product.
