Just beware you have to pay for shipping to send them back and may not be worth the loss. Basically you may be stuck with these if you’re unhappy with them. The buckets have an odor to them. I noticed that when I started to wash them, but thought maybe it was just from the hot water. That worried me right off the bat, so I let them air dry all day, and the smell did go away, but then I thought “well let me put a cover on” (and the cover was washed), and leave it set for a few hours. I come back a few hours later and take the lid off and the smell has returned. I am storing grains in these buckets And I shouldn’t have to put a liner in food grade buckets. The grains will attract that smell and I can’t sell it to customers. And I wouldn’t do that to my own grains for my own use! Also, I don’t know if this company is just a distributor or if they’re a manufacturer but the lid and the bucket come from two different companies . When you tear the strip off the lid to use it, it leaves a very jagged and sharp edge. The good? Yes, the lids are hard to get off but that is what a bucket lid remover tool is for and they’re not expensive. I prefer them this way. The buckets are also very sturdy and noticeably thicker than the one I got at Walmart tonight to test. But again I can’t use them with that odor. Update 1: I gave 5 stars because the customer service was excellent. They did send another order free of charge pretty fast. Unfortunately the new order of buckets did have a burnt smell to them. I called them back and they promised to refund the entire order and send me pre paid shipping labels. From what I understand, a good quality Mylar bag will block odors. But I’m wasn’t going to use these buckets for long term storage.

These are great, full stop. I bought 25Kg of flour and wanted a good way to store it that was also easy to handle, which meant NOT one giant container. I divided the flour among all six buckets, and then affixed the lids. If YOU are going to use the lids, remove the retaining strip BEFORE affixing the lids-- it's very, very easy with an ordinary pliers (just for the gripping-- it takes little effort) and the strips come away cleanly and easily. To affix the lids, you want a rubber mallet. You can do it another way, but a rubber mallet makes quick and easy work of the process. I could easily fit two bags' worth of flour in these (18lbs per) which still wouldn't be tough to handle, and that would be a year's worth of pizza. I'm truly pleased with these buckets. No bad smell, very well made, easy to use, very sturdy and oh yeah--a great price-- highest recommendation.

For some reason it won’t let me leave 5 stars. These are nice buckets. No smell, lids are very snug. I read a lot of the reviews before purchasing and did as the others have recommended. Such as removing the safety ring on the lid before putting them on the buckets and buying a bucket opener. Work as expected and are good quality.

I mill wheat for home made bread and other baked foods so I store several varieties of wheat and other grains. These buckets are ideal for pest safe storage. They come with lids and handle too. If you do need to purchase a durable lid opener to open the lid. I seal the lid with a rubber mallet. These are very sturdy food safe buckets that could also be used for long term storage. They also cost less than many others. They're made in USA!!!
