NIFTY FIFTY performs more like a lens "half its age" !! :)
This lens stays on my camera → I guess you can say my camera has "resting nifty fifty face"!! If something happens in an instant, it will be shot with the 50mm first ( even at night when running & gunning, although specific astrophotography (how fun is this stuff?!) will call for other options. The 50 isn't a "necessary evil" - it's a optional privilege! I wish every company sold one of their best entry-level products that often outshines items (lenses) of much higher prices → wouldn't that be amazing?!

Awesome for the Price
It's a cheapie lens, so I lowered my expectations. However, I have been very impressed. The results have been fantastic. I was especially excited to try my hand at images of the Aurora and Comet A3, using a full-frame Canon R6. The results were stunning. The trade-off with cheaper lenses, is slight focus softening toward the corners and coma toward the corners. (Coma is a lens aberration that causes wing-shaoed light-flaring around stars). The thing is, Canon's exceedingly expensive RF lenses are hardly any better! So this will be my astro-photography lens of choice until Canon can fix their so-called "premium" lenses.

Best lens for the money. 10/10
Shot this photo of my dog on my Cannon EOS RP full frame camera. The lens is amazing for $230. I look like a professional photographer now with this lens. Very high quality lens and has an amazing blur in the background. It’s a great upgrade from the lens that comes with the camera.

Awesome for budget
Great little lens for what I need it. My dad is always saying “get the top glass for the top photos” and while he isn’t wrong, this lens delivers on a budget! I have used this lens for countless shoots with my canon r6 mark II and it works like a dream. The shutter is quiet and it is very small/compact. I love this lens and my pictures come out clear and detailed every time.

A Must for R50V
It's a must have for closeup product video on a Canon R50V. Cheap, bright, effective and well made.

Awesome lens! Beginner proof in photography
Got this for my wife for Christmas and she absolutely loves this lens! The autofocus capability is amazing and so is the quality of the pictures. She hasn’t taken any photography classes but this lens practically does it for you. Overall this is a great lens for the price point!

Good value for the money
It's an inexpensive nifty fifty. The AF is finicky and slow, but works well. It does the autofocus electric song, and that's kind of my jam, so I don't mind. The camera's mic pics it up pretty well. It's a solid lens. I'm very happy with it, especially at the price point. I've spent more for less.Have some unedited shots with a Canon EOS R50 and the lens.

Great value lens — perfect for portraits and low light
The Canon RF 50mm F1.8 STM lens has exceeded my expectations. It’s compact, lightweight, and delivers excellent image quality for the price. The wide f/1.8 aperture creates beautiful background blur (bokeh) and performs very well in low-light conditions, making it ideal for portraits, street photography, and indoor shooting. The autofocus is fast and quiet thanks to the STM motor, which also makes it a good choice for video. While the body is made of plastic, it feels solid and is very comfortable to use with RF-mount cameras like the EOS R50.Overall, this is a fantastic option whether you’re just getting started or looking for a bright prime lens without spending too much. Highly recommended to expand your gear on a budget.
