UPDATE #2: Amazon continues to deliver old stock!! UPDATE: Seller made things right.
UPDATE 10/28/2024:Well, I didn't heed my own advice. Thinking the problem was solved, I ordered another batch from Amazon and got another brown, stale batch. The package I received from the seller had a sell by date on each stick wrapper of 10/16/2025, while the stuff Amazon is currently shipping has a date of 4/11/2025. I don't know how Amazon is storing these things, but something is definitely not right. I reverted back to 1 star, because while the sticks are great (I give them a 5 when fresh), Amazon is dropping the ball here.UPDATE 10/18/2024:Seller reached out and indicated that there was a warehousing/distribution issue at Amazon and offered to ship a replacement. The new sticks arrived fresh and tasty like I remember. Hopefully, Amazon will learn how to store/inventory food products properly to keep their deliveries fresh. ORIGINAL REVIEW:Used to be a decent meat stick, but it seems the quality is gone. after seeing the last few months of reviews. Liquidating old stock maybe? Going out of business? I wouldn't mind being made whole for this rotten batch, but in the meantime, I won't be buying any more until I see positive reviews!

Customer Service
I’ve been eating these great quality Nick Sticks for a couple of years. The last batch I ordered was a different color so I reached out to the company and I have to say I am so impressed with their customer service. After sending them pics and order info they are now sending me out a new order. So happy with their customer service.

Received a bad batch and became sick form eating them. Be cautious and inspect them before eating.
I've been ordering these for a while now and I've ordered over 200 of them with no issue and really enjoyed them; however, the last order I received was terrible. My experience was bad enough to question if I'll ever order more of these, which makes me sad because until now I really loved these. The sticks were received very soft and squishy. The insides of the sticks were pinkish and most of them smelled rotten after 2-3 weeks. I keep them in a cool dark area that's always around 70°F. My best guess is that this batch wasn't cooked or dried well enough to preserve them and possibly the reason they were going bad. They tasted ok at first (I had a hard time getting past them being really soft and mushy but they tasted fine), but it wasn't long before I bit into one with a bitter taste and then soon realized it smelled like rotten meat. Not log after I ate the bad one, I became sick. It was like a violent stomach virus and I had a very bad two days after. The expiration date on all of them reads "11-08-2016" so they're well within the expiration date. About 2 days later, I opened the rest of them, and I threw away 18 of the 25 that I ordered in this batch because they smelled rotten. Only 3 remaining sticks didn't smell rotten, but I couldn't bring myself to eat them. Very disappointed. I'm debating if I'll order again. If I do, I'll update this review. If you order these and get a batch like this, don't attempt to eat them like I did or open the rest to see if they're good. Just immediately return them because they might not be safe to eat.

Apparently the problem was with Amazon.....
UPDATED 5/17/2025: I have continued to buy this product at my local Natural Grocers by Vitamin Cottage store. The quality is consistently good in every way. I only had problems when I bought full cases from Amazon. That said, I'm only giving 4 stars instead of 5 because this product has more salt and spices than I like. I don't need my turkey smothered in other flavors.ORIGINAL REVIEW:I've been buying Nick's Sticks in Turkey flavor for a number of years, both from Natural Grocers and Amazon. The last few shipments from Amazon have been increasingly variable in terms of color, smell, and taste. The last shipment was so different that I believe it is unsafe to eat.Amazon gave me return credit for it, and I have removed it from my subscribe and save.Too bad quality control no longer seems important to this company. :(

All of the goodness, none of the garbage
I discovered Nick's Sticks when I started a paleo diet. It's difficult to find a healthy on the go snack that isn't a bar that contains some kind of grain in it. This is why I love Nick's sticks - I order the turkey flavor on a recurring basis.- they come packaged, so it's easy to throw in my bag- no mess or crumbs- they are low calorie (75 cal/serving)- they are pure protein and keep blood sugar steady- they taste good (kind of like a mini hot dog, more than jerky)Nick's slogan is - all of the goodness, none of the garbage, which is pretty accurate. I also like that I'm supporting an organic family run farm in Iowa. They may be a bit on the expensive side, but there is a volume discount and a subscription option on his website.I do notice that the flavor and the texture of the snacks sometimes vary from batch to batch, but it's always a good quality, filling snack.

Love These
I love the taste (a little spicy) and protein. Great snack. Other's have complained about some of the sticks sometimes being moldy. I have not found that to be true. I store mine in the refrigerator.
