Review of bike 5 stars and it's vendor Online Sports 3 stars!
First the bike is top notch and even better before me assembled than looking at it online! I am a novice biker but wanted something I could fold up instead of trying to cram a normal bike into my new car. It folds easily though I'm not as fast as the people on the videos, but I'll bet better with practice! It shifts smoothly and handles roads and an occasional on and off curb jumping fine. I haven't taken it off the beaten path just yet though I hardly do that anyway but I'm sure it will do just fine at my level.During assembly all I had to do was take off the cardboard padding off the frame wheels and seat. The frame, handlebars, and back tire where already assembled leaving me to unfold the bike and put on the front wheel and seat. Assembly was easy and I didn't even read the manual...well just a little. I just had to adjust the front brake a little. The bike is awesome, but with one complaint: for 629.00$ It would have been nice if it came with a bike stand for crying out loud. But I was aware of this when I purchased it.As for its vendor, Online sports, my opinion has weighed heavily on my mind so I gave it a few weeks to think about it. I WOULD GIVE THEM 3 STARS. I would give them lower, but all my issues were resolved at the end.I ordered the bikes two weeks and a half before I was going to take a vacation with my son. The bikes were going with us on our trip. For a week I watched FedEx website to see where my bike was at using the tracking information. But it sat at the hub for a week. Concerned, I called ONLINE SPORTS but only got a recording; so I left a message. I got no reply! ( Don't bother calling, I've called them several times and found that communication is best through Amazons website. I never got a response from any of my calls) I wrote an email through amazon, and I was informed that my order had stopped at the FedEx Hub at their end since my order had no last name. (Really no last name on my order?!? They had no problem taking my money from the bank of the Amazon website that has all of my information!) After my last name was added to my order the shipment continued on its way.I emailed my concerns about it arriving on time before I departed on my trip an was assured it word arrive before I left. NOT!!! IT ARRIVED 2 AND A HALF DAYS AFTER I LEFT. Thank God my neighbor signed for them before my third notice or it would have been sent back. After coming back from my trip, I decided to return one since the frame was too high for my son who is slightly shorter than me and there was concern he would inadvertently rack himself should his foot slip off a petal. I know tidied Online Sports and got my return information promptly, they even offered a two inch smaller frame trade, but I declined since my son had his heart on on other folding bike with a different store.I returned the bike on my dime fully insured as was the instructions of return...about 150$ to send back fully insured! And it arrived back in five days! IT TOOK OVER A MONTH TO PROCESS IT BACK AND TO GET REIMBURSED ON MY CARD BUT WITH AMAZON'S A-Z CLAIMS SERVICE INVOLVEMENT. Online Sports was quick to respond on every email but very slow on its reaction to finalize our last transaction though they assured me it would be done within a week. I contacted them twice with two week intervals during my wait!I had been patient with Online Sports but in the end, I had to involve Amazon's claim service to get my refund. Despite Online Sports quick response through emails (their only saving grace), I found the whole experience with them to be full of incompetence from the very start to the end! I shall never do business with them again! I think my three stars of them is generous.*Update: after having this for about a year, the bike still is top notch. It's about as heavy as any other mountain bike I've had, but it performs nicely. I've riden this through mid tie level puddles, very thick mud, dirt paths, street / sidewalks, and over arm sized tree limbs. The gears still change smoothly, and I have yet to have any rusting. After a really muddy run, I hose it off and let it drip dry and going in my garage on a bike hook. It folds nicely and stores easily in my hatchback car.My only complaints are: 1) like I stated before; no kick stand. I've tried buying a Walmart stand, but it did not fit. I'm just gonna have to pay for a 20-30ish stand off Amazon. >:( 2) for the amount a person pays, I wish this bike was lighter. In my opinion for the money, it should be made of lighter material. All in all, I still like this bike.

Love it
We purchased this for my wife to match the one I bought. She loves it. It's a bit on the heavy side, but rides very well and was ready to go right out of the box, I had to replace the rear wheel and crankset on mine after a few months, but no issues with this at all so far.

Excellent bike.
Assembled easy enough out of the box. I made a few modifications, starting with a more comfortable seat. I also upgraded to the folding pedals and changed to a larger crankset (Shimano m131) since I never used the first gear, but even without these modifications it is an excellent bike. I haven't had any issues in over a year of riding.

Good
Well built and the seller delivered quickly. I would buy from this seller again. This is a folder bike and is easy to unpack from the shipping box and get on the road. I like it very much as it is sturdy.

Great bike, but the price...
The frame is great, very easy to fold, and the weight is acceptable. But with only 18 speeds, there is no way to race. As my point of view, if you got nearly 700 bucks for this, you can find an extra 200 to go for the paratrooper, which could be a better idea.

good value
It is the second folding bike I own in my home. X50 is the entry level bike in its series. four stars are for its great value and design. The last star is gone due to its mass production where some parts are subpar in quality you see in walmart and target. It will be great if another 5lb+ can be weighted out for this bike.

Don't recommend this to women bike riders
This bike looks and feels bad for female riders, and it doesn't feel safe. I had to return it after reading in the book manual many things this bike doesn't do safely as regular mountain bike do. Besides, the folding and unfolding of the bike is too much and it does look like a wheel chair when folded. I decided for a stylish- safe mountain bike and a car bike rack. Plus the wheels on the bike I own now can be removed easily to fit the bike in a car trunk if want to.

Montague X-50 review
My terrain is Bagram AF Afghanistan - My total commute is 8 miles a day on a partially paved flat, very dusty, windy, very muddy (on wet days) road. I ordered my X-50 on 4 May and it arrived on Bagram 10 May 2010. It took me 15 minutes to unpack and start riding. The ride is extremely smooth on these roads and I rise out of the saddle on the rocky unpaved sections. We have one hill and I find the shifting smooth as hell. Even riding with one hand you can shift effortlessly. After a muddy ride I found the bike easy to hose off and clean. NO tough to clean places. Great bike for the average rider, but with 18 gears I was spinning on the flats and needed more torque, so I just ordered the Paratrooper and I'll let you know next month if the extra 6 gears was worth the money. At $499 the X50 was easy to sell.Enjoy the rideSir Glover
