Works well but minor mods needed during install
I bought this for my Zen Vision M 30G from Battery Centre. It arrived quickly (3 days to CO, compared to the predicted weeks for other vendors) and surprisingly was fully charged. It was slightly thicker than the old battery which was a bit of an issue as it made it very hard to re-install the rear cover. There's a pretty easy fix though: there are two rubber pads at the power switch end of the board assembly - one on the hard disk connector and one by the headphone jack. I used a sharp knife to thin these down until the rear cover fit perfectly. I also cut the ribs off the blue end sleeves on the hard drive to thin them down for good measure. Once I got through that it went back together fine and now my Vision M is back in business.

Great Battery Replacement!
Product shipped in a timely fashion. There were no defects with the product. It was slightly thicker than the original battery, but that is to be expected with a replacement and a newer version. I merely had to take out the "buffer" pieces and it fit just fine inside my Zen. Now I'm back listening to 90s hits all over again!

Battery Creative Zen Vision M 30GB Installation
Battery Creative Zen Vision M 30GB, Li-pl, 1400 mAh I went ahead and bought this battery as my original Zen one was getting too old to hold a charge for a useful day. I previously had only to charge it every one-two days.As others have said, the battery is a bit thicker than the original one. I hope (but doubt) that maybe they get smooshed over time. The installation process is like shown on youtube (I watched a couple of videos to know how to do it). A few things that weren't mentioned in all of them include that my two plastic top and bottom covers flew off and I was lucky they landed safely; the original battery was so thin it bent as I pried it off the back cover to remove it, as the adhesive holding it there was stronger than I expected; to make the new and slightly thicker battery fit I found it most effective to remove a black spacer between the battery and top of the unit. I was also left with another much smaller black spacer (I think???) leftover I had not noticed where it came from. It is very important to make sure the wires coming out of the battery are placed such that they won't break or get smooshed as you put the unit back together.I will post some pictures below. I intend to come back after a few days, weeks, or months to give a more in-depth review of the new battery's performance over time. The new battery was not charged when it arrived, so I had to restart my unit a few times after installation for it to startup again (so don't worry about that). I have read it's best to fully charge and discharge these batteries the first two-three times. Battery Creative Zen Vision M 30GB, Li-pl, 1400 mAh

It works but is not an exact replacement.
Used this to replace the battery in Creative Zen Vision M 30gb. As described by many others this is not an exact replacement as it is thicker than the original. It will go in with a bit of effort and possibly trimming of rubber spacers. There are a couple of useful YouTube videos which take you through the dismantling and reassembly process The replacement battery does work with my device but it is now showing a firmware problem so back to the drawing board.

Care and Attention
It is true that replacing a battery for the Creative Zen Vision M 30 GB is not as straightforward as the You tube videos but still very worthwhile. Some tips: You need a very small good quality Philips screwdriver which is magnetic. Putting those small screws back takes patience, care and attention. A mounted magnifying glass may help. It is true the battery is a bit thicker - it's a better battery anyway - so it does need a bit of fiddling to get it properly placed. Make sure the battery is centred in the back cover and the hard drive centred over that. If not slight flexing of the hard drive cover will stop it working. Reassembly just takes patience not brain power. I used two very small G clamps and very thick cardboard to protect the player. Fasten the top (longer) screws first. Squeeze just enough to get the screws in and then secure the bottom. It's a player I value for its sound which suits the music I prefer so the effort has been very worthwhile. It is worth fiddling with even if you have to disassemble and start again.A shallow dish below the player is a precaution in case you drop the little screws.I am very pleased.

Works, but only after a bit of work
It works now, but only after I swapped the PC board with the old, original one attached to the dead battery. A simple web search shows that this is a universal problem which should be made clear - it WILL NOT WORK with players that had the last available update without changing the boards, involving a soldering iron & the ability to use it...

Simple Replacement
I had read reviews about replacing the battery and was prepared with all the recommended tools, including G clamp. I found the process very simple. Althought the replacement battery is slightly thicker than original, I had no problem fitting the casing back on. I first fixed the longer screws back in place and then gently pressed the casing down, working my way slowly to other end, before securing the other screws. It does require gentle pressure but I did not require the clamps. Can't understand what all that fuss was about, it took me between 5 and 10 minutes and now my Creative is working perfectly.
