Nice screen, helpful support. A bumpy start to this product but it was resolved
When I first purchased this product it did not work right out of the box for me. I am using it with a Raspberry Pi 3B. After my initial review that was set at 2 stars and laying out my issues, I was contacted by support. Support has me go through the initial steps of making sure the config file is setup correctly. All the configurations suggested by Waveshare and all that I could find when searching google did not work. The screen would power up directly into VGA mode and say no signal. No matter the configuration, when switching to the HDMI source it would keep saying "no signal". After some back and forth in emails with support, it was suggested that I do a firmware update. After a successful firmware flash from the image provided on their wiki, the screen started to work properly. The screen now powers up in HDMI default mode and does not display "no signal" when the powered off RPI is plugged into the HDMI port. The only difference in the firmware flash instructions, instead of powering off, and then long pressing the power button (this did not work), I instead unplugged the touchscreen from its power source and held the power button down as I plugged the touchscreen power source back in. If your screen does not work, and all the configurations have not helped, talk to support and do a firmware update.

Not too sure
**Update** even though it says it comes with the latest drivers, installing the ‘latest’ from their website solved my issues. It works great now.I’m debating about returning this screen, and getting the one with 10 point capacitive touch, because the touch drivers on this thing are weird. Touching anywhere moves the last selected window, unless I hold control, or hit tab, or something (I haven’t figured it completely out). It’s not built like junk, I can tell you that. But using this as a kiosk is proving to make a bad customer experience.

This is a DIY display with few instructions
Not enough documentation to confidently assemble the system so it was just plug & pray.

Does not work with Kodi
Touchscreen does not work with Kodi at all. Only the top left corner of the screen reacts to touch.Have tried OSMC, OpenELEC and Xbian all same result. Can't find anywhere to change settings. It's strange because the touchscreen works fine with Raspbian and W10 IOT Core.I bought this for an in-car project - so it's now useless to me.

Good product, very easy to use. Negative reviews are user error.
Works great as expected. I'm using it with a raspberry pi 3 but it would work with anything with a usb port. The touch screen is usb so that should work with just about anything. If I had one complaint I would say it draws too much current. It runs on 12 vdc, I'm not sure of the exact current draw but I am having a lot of trouble powering it off a battery. Nothing seems to provide enough current. 5 vdc would be nice since that's what everything else in a normal raspberry pi setup runs on. Oh also mine has a dead pixel which I would probably do something about if I wasn't in a hurry. The End

Touchscreen did not work. Waveshare won't accept a return. Wasted money.
I expected a little bit of trouble shooting after reading the reviews on here but after trying everything listed here, on the wiki, and suggested by Waveshare technical support nothing worked. The colors never displayed properly and the touchscreen didnt work. Now I'm stuck in the infinite loop with the waveshare return support. I file the return, get forwarded to tech support, we try everything again, its still broken, tech support recommends a replacement, forwards me to customer service for the return, customer service forwards me to a new tech support staff, repeat. I have a feeling I will never get my money back.Needing to get my project up and running I purchased "Raspberry Pi 10 Inch Touch Screen - SunFounder 10.1" HDMI 1280x800 IPS LCD Touchscreen for RPi 3 Model B+ 3B 2B LattePanda Beagle Bone". After plugging this unit in it fired up and worked perfectly out of the box. Its also multitouch whereas this Waveshare product is not. If you're still reading this don't waste your time on the on Waveshare.

Very Happy. Windows10 works out of the box (no drivers).
Totally stoked! Got this for a DIY kiosk project. It took about 10 minutes to go from unpacking to fully assembled. I hooked it up to a windows 10 system (HDMI and USB for input) and it worked like a champ! I even hooked up a DVD player (HDMI only) and it was great. The back is clear acrylic (1/4" thick) and seems very structurally sound. The cards are sandwiched (i.e. protected) between the front panel and the acrylic. It includes standoffs so there is plenty of room. I believe also there are pre-drilled holes for raspberry PI and Arduino. The HDMI connection is a separate board that can be attached to the back or attached to whatever project housing you want. It also can be attached on the left or right. I will be buying more of these. CONS: The viewing angle is shallower than i would like. The power/input select/menu buttons are not as easy to access once fully assembled, but are well marked and seem to be of good quality. Assembly instructions are lacking, but once you figure out that RGB ribbon is used for HDMI it was a piece of cake.

Best customer serivce available anywhere
After 11 months, the HDMI input suddenly stopped working. I contacted the seller asking if I could obtain just the control board as the display was working just fine. After a couple of troubleshooting emails Jennifer from WaveShare just told me she has sent a new control board under warrantee. I wish all companies were as customer centric as this. Many, many thanks Jennifer @ WaveShare! Great product, great service!
