This book articulates essential things about the physical world around us that we take for granted and often don't notice. Reading this book helped me understand that what I know about myself, my own body, and how this shapes what I think about the world and about the architecture I live in. What I love so much about this book is that while reading it, I was encouraged to learn that I know more about the built environment than I had previously considered. So often with academic writing, the student is left feeling inferior intellectually while reading about empirical or theoretical ideas related to architecture. This was not my experience while reading "Making Architecture Through Being a Human". Plowright uses language that is inclusive and easy to understand. It is an essential read for early students in architecture, and also for anyone interested in thinking about larger systems of how we think. It is presented with concise, effective narrative and iconic graphics.

It’s a very interesting and useful book for Architecture/Design Students and Professionals too! I think its a Great handbook and can help a lot in projects and while working with concepts as it hold important architectural/design notions and what adds to it is that it defines architectural concept/notions in a simple straight to the point way with diagrams for each notion and this is very useful to simplify reading/info/learning process

In this book Phillip clearly explains ideas that seem to be difficult to understand into simple diagrams and words. It thoroughly explains how to view design principles in a particular perspective. Truly enjoyed this book and would recommend anyone in the design field to get a hold of this book!
