Awesome for the price!
These were a little pricey but they are great cameras. No, they're not military grade or what Walmart uses for security, but you're also probably not able to spend $200k on security. These are wired so they won't use up your wifi bandwidth, they record continuesly for 2 weeks, capture motion, and also smart detection (people, animals etc). Depending on the setup of your home, it will either be kind of tough to set up, or it can be downright a pain in the rear. It took me a while to set them up. I basically did a camera a day with going through the attic, climbing up a 20" ladder to get the cameras on the eaves, etc..They have night mode, the Loren app is pretty good. We have 5 users that have their own log in credentials. I'm the account owner so I control what permissions they have. The app can switch from SD for when the Internet isn't so great, to HD, for when you have a normal connection. Each camera has a speaker, a light, a siren, and a microphone. This one comes with 6 cameras but supports 8, which you would just have to buy afterwards if you need them. I used all 6 and the machine doesn't run hot. It's a little loud but not that bad. We keep it in the closet and use a 1080 monitor. I'd like to get a 4k monitor because it won't let me use the highest quality due to the monitor not supporting it. I honestly like the cameras, a lot. If you have the patience to set them up, this will be a fun project. I totally recommend these!

Just a great system!
I turned to Lorex as a possible home monitoring system after two attempts at using a Reolink. Both of those systems had big issues, like losing all cameras for no reason, losing one camera that required daily reset and reconfiguration, etc. Not so with the Lorex. This is a great looking system and super easy to install. The app is much better too and gives me fast easy access to cameras remotely. One thing I noticed was the 4K cameras produce a much better picture than the Reo system did, but both are suppose to be the same picture quality. The Lorex six camera system cost about the same as the Reo four camera system, so to me it's actually a better value for the money. Also, I really like the added white LEDs on the camera that turn on to warn a person who enters the sensor area that yes, there's a camera and yes, you're already recorded on the system, so "Smile!"

Upgraded from Lorex DVR to NVR
Instillation was fairly simple and required no calls to tech support, Major plus in my opinion. Picture quality is excellent and the night vision works very well. I’m still exploring software setup options and tweaking settings to meet my needs. The Lorex Home mobile app functions well and is a nice feature to have. If this new unit works as good as my previous still working 12 year old DVR did it’s a 5 star for sure. Main reason for upgrading was improved picture quality and the NVR POE cameras capabilities. One recommendation for Lorex would be to included a couple 100 or maybe 150 ft cables for the cameras. I found that the included 60ft cables were adequate for 4 out of the 6 camera runs, and would probably meet most home owners needs. In my case the runs were between 20 and 150ft. Although this is not a deal breaker and cables can be easily made or purchased for longer runs, it would of been nice.

A bit better than Reolink RLK8-812B.
Pros: good daytime videos of moving and non-moving objects. 2-way audio is far better than Reolink RLK8-812B. Nighttime videos of moving objects is a lot better than the Reolink mentioned, even though the specifications says otherwise. Black and white videos with IR light is not bad, although ambien lights will be a huge boost to video quality at night. Overall video quality surpassed the Reolink RLK8-812B. I returned the Reolink and this Lorex is a keeper for me.Cons: the LED lights are a bit too dim, LED lights turns off after 30 seconds and no way to set it to stay on longer, camera build quality is not on par with the Reolink RLK8-812B, motion sensor is so-so....a bit slow.

not worth it
The cameras work fine, and customer service was helpful whenever I called. At first, I thought it is an amazing quality, but as time goes within the first week or 2nd, you will realize how suck quality is. my only problem with the camera is the quality is not 4k is more like 1080 hd. There was a parked vehicle on the side of the street 9pm in the evening. I couldn’t even get a proper description of the vehicle’s color or license plate. The more I zoomed in the blurrier it gets, and It was 30 feet away. Day time quality is not bad but still hard to identify an individual or license plate within 20 feet never more than. Would I purchase these cameras again? absolutely not! cameras and installation and box setup cost me $1600. Next time I rather purchase 2 or 4 high tech cameras rather than 6 useless cameras.

Clear recording and good support
Pretty easy set up. One camera did not work, but after a few calls to tech support they provided a replacement. Great picture quality and sound recording. Still working through various settings - motion scensing, people detection, notifications, active time schedule, etc. Will recommend to friends.

Stopped working 1 year later.
Really difficult setup requiring a monitor (not included). Main unit has a loud fan running always. Lots of false alerts. Phone app can only be used to notify and watch 10 second clips. App does not work with any other settings. 1 year later, it stopped working. Lorex customer service can't fix it.

Great system
Very happy with this system pros great quality picture, night video is good quality. The cameras are heavy and feel like they are built great. Flaws takes a while to get the settings perfectly fine tuned the way you want. For night color you need to make sure there is plenty of ambient light.

Not the best
Quality of the camera itself isn’t that good as others say. The customer support is HORRIBLE! I have never in my life encountered so much ignorance and disprespect from any customer service/ a tech support like I have with LOREX!!! And all of this was just to replace one camera that was not working!! The camera came broken and they still have not replaced it!! Buyers beware!!I paid over 1k and was treated like trash!!I would recommend to anyone to buy from any other security company over Lorex!!
