Very nice coloured pencils. Somewhere between Prisma and Polychromos in softness, pigment and lay down. Great colour variety more toward landscape than portrait, but a lot of blendable choices. Very happy with this purchase. Lovely for adult colouring at a good price.

After reading a good review about these pencils, I decided to give them a go. I was looking for pencils a little les creamy than prismacolors but softer than FC Polychromos. And these are exactly that! They are creamy but still blend very well and can be used perfectly for layering as well! Many different colours of green, purple and brown, etc! I am so pleased with them, they might have become my favourite pencils! If you are a colour-addict like I am, you won’t be disappointed!

These pencils are perfect for using in adult colouring books and for hobby artists. The pencil colours adhere to the paper well, they sharpen well, although they are quite soft so don't stay sharp for long. Very good range of colours that blend nicely; not quite as well as very high-end pencils such as Polychromos (oil based), but still very good. Like all wax-based coloured pencils, miniscule bits of the nib break off while colouring. To avoid these tiny bits smudging your work, avoid using your hand to sweep them away. A soft brush is better. Minor smudges are easily removed with an eraser - I use a Faber-Castell eraser pencil. I wouldn't recommend using an electric eraser on these Arteza pencils as in my experience it's more likely to smudge than erase. I imagine that's due to a combination of the wax pencil and the plasticy type of eraser my electric eraser uses. These pencils are the Arteza Expert range, which appears to be their top-level range. I also have a small set of the Arteza Premium range, which are also very nice to use. I don't notice much difference between the two ranges, apart from the barrel shape: round (expert) versus triangular (premium). I think the normal price, which is in the low-£40 region, is very good value for the number and quality of the pencils in this set. I was lucky enough to buy on a Black Friday deal, so it was even better value. The Arteza customer services is really helpful and polite. I contacted them with a query and they replied within a few hours, and sent a replacement for a faulty pencil the following day. Best customer service I've ever had from a company on Amazon.

After reading the bad reviews online I bought the pencilset of 120 to have my own experience. I have to say that that after swatching I love the pencils, the colors are vibrant, the pencil feels good in the hand, the box arrived in good condition and earlier than was planned on Amazon. I highly recommend this beautiful pencil box.

For about the same price as the Prismacolor Premiers, the lay down almost as much colour and can hold a much better point -- and the points don't break! Good selection of colours, too, but they could use more greys. The pencils themselves are not all perfect. Several have pretty big defects, and the writing comes off almost immediately when you use them. They don't come in the same order listed on the back or inside lid of the tin, so I suggest putting them in that order to at least have a chance of knowing which is which once the colour names wear off. Worth noting that not every pencil performs the same way. Some are much harder and require a bit more pressure to get colour out of them. Others lay down thick and smooth colour on a light pass. As such, some colours wear down incredibly fast. My Sunflower Yellow is half-done after just a few fireballs! The tin is really nice and compact, but the plastic trays are really flimsy. The big positive is that Arteza has fantastically responsive customer service. I emailed them on Saturday regarding the several damaged/defective pencils in the set. Sent them the amazon invoice as proof of purchase, and by the time I got home from work today (Monday), an entire new set had been delivered to my door. If they can step up their initial quality control, and maybe find a more permanent way of marking the pencils, these would be perfect.
