Very effective
I ordered these for a less typical application - to quite the resonant HD noise in a Fostex HD multitrack recorder. The HD in my DMT-8vl is mounted to a steel plate, without any isolation, that mount to the steel bottom plate of the unit, and there is a lot of resonant whine through the chassis from the 7200 RPM HD. Installing these grommets and screws gave noticable results, probably a 50% reduction in noise, especially at the higher frequencies. Overall I'm very satisfied with the results for the cost as they did surprisingly well at reducing hard drive whine.

They fit, they work
The rubber mounting of the fan plate has quieted significantly with the addition of these flexible mounts.

Perfect!
Wish they were a little less expensive, but these are perfect and I am so happy my NAS is back up and running. I used these to replace some worn out hot-swap drive bay grommets in an older 4-bay NAS.
