Q: What are the actual dimensions of this psu? the ones given in the listing (10.16 x 7.95 x 4.06 inches) would make it too big to fit in most pc cases.

To my knowledge, the case designs for computers are specific for the type of computer inside it. ATX cases are designed for ATX type computer systems using ATX type power supplies. It is essential that the power supply be selected for the type of case it will be used in and the type of motherboard that will also be used. Within any class of computer that's being built, these three main components must be selected to fit and work together.

Q: can this run a 1060 and is it top mounted or botom?

I am not aware of any orientation limitations on any computer power supply. Orientation is more determined by the case design. The power supply doesn't care as long as it can get good airflow through the case. Mine is mounted on the bottom which became an issue when the case sat on a carpeted floor which restricted airflow. This power supply provides 750 watts of power and the power requirements for the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 (6GB) is 400w minimum. This P/S will power that card just fine. It powers my Radian RX 570 (8GB) perfectly.
