A: Our skin produces a protein called keratin that constructs 90% of the outer-most layer of the skin, protecting the skin from infections and other harmful environmental stressors. Keratosis pilaris is caused by the overproduction and buildup of keratin, which further plugs pores and blocks the opening of hair follicles. Since keratosis pilaris most commonly occurs in adolescents (usually after age 10), keratosis pilaris can get worse at puberty. Additionally, keratosis pilaris is present more often with eczema or dry skin and often gets worse in cold, dry weather. Adults can develop keratosis pilaris as well and experience flare ups in tandem with other skin conditions and/or during the winter months. It has the same effect as a light acid peel or exfoliate toner, so afterwords you're skin feel so much cleaner like it removed a layer of dead skin. Even so, its gentle enough to use every other day without any irritation or excessively drying out the skin. I have pretty dry skin already so I would still recommend using a good lotion afterwords. I Also can't get enough of the clean relaxing sent it has. Overall recommend, Its much better than any body wash your going to find at the store. Only wish it was a little cheaper. It’s unlike any other scent out there! I wish the Retone Exfoliating Lotion had the same scent! (It also has a nice scent but is very different, clean with hints of mint.)

it really takes all the dirt and oil off your body and it's very smooth in terms of keratosis pilaris it definitely help smoothen your skin but doesn't mean that their will be gone especially if its genetics but I seen a few changes.

I live in the Northeast and hate dry skin and now that it is getting colder out, I was looking for a good exfoliating body wash. This stuff is awesome and reasonably priced. It leaves your skin so soft and silky, even if you do not use the oil after it (but why would you skip it .....even the oil awesome!). I do not deal with sensitive skin but could see why someone who does or deals with other skin conditions would want to use something like this. It is non harsh, non irritating and doesn't have perfumes. It just leaves you with clean, soft, smooth and great looking skin.

The scent of this product is heavenly—it’s hard to describe but I would say it’s a light floral. It’s not cloying and rinses away. I like the way the product foams up so that I can where it is and where else it’s needed. I decided to try the scrub after trying the lotion and I’m glad I did! This cleanser makes my skin feel soft and in tandem with the lotion, has greatly improved the appearance of my keratosis pilaris.
