how many yards of line will one slot hold? it says up to one inch, does anyone know how long that is? thank you.

It will hold one spool of standard size, whose length depends on the gauge of the line. The Plano 1085 XL holds 5 spools with 1000 yards each in slots 1.85" wide. I guess that the narrower spools in the Plano 1084 hold up to 500 yards. Typically the spools sell with 200-300 yards of line. If you really need a lot of line, go with the box with 5 slots, the 1085 XL. Just look at the line you normally use and see the capacity on the 1" or 1.85" wide spools. That will give you the answer you need.

how big is it would it fit in a Plano 7771 on the side box?

about 8 in long and 4 in wide and 4 in high

Would it fit wider spools

The box is made with one inch slots. How ever I have a three inch spool in the box. So yes you can skip a slot. I also have a doll rod across the whole thing skipping the slots completely.

Great but not best for dispensing line

Great storage box for my flourocarbon spools, can fit 6 spools comfortably. sometimes if the spool is a little fatter it does not fit in the slot that is there great but it isint a big deal. Not great for threading line through the gromets but i dont use it for that anyways. Overall keeps all my line together and works great!
