3rd ingredient is Monosodium Glutamate
In the item description above, it says, "No added MSG" which is the major reason I purchased this item. Someone is going to give me my money back for this. I don't think since it is food, I can return, but Amazon just better give me my money back on this item. I am so upset about these lies.

A little salty, but the taste is true!
The best way to get a lovely shrimp taste is to boil shrimp heads and strain the juice.OK, if this is not appetizing to you, then get yourself some Minor's shrimp base. This is the only shrimp stock that tasted like actual shrimp. There is a boullion cube version of this, sometimes available in regular supermarket. Tastes like salted fish, ugh. This tastes like shrimp, and has that lovely orange shrimp color. And it lasts a long time, I guess due to the salt content. It's a bit expensive, but worth every penny.I have since bought the clam, lobster and crab bases, and like them all. Kudos, Minor's!

Easy and good.
Many of the recipes in Paul Prudhomme's cookbook "Louisiana Kitchen" call for a broth made from boiling Shrimp heads and shells. It is rare that I have shrimp heads and shells on hand but I do keep Minors Shrimp Base in the refrigerator and it is much easier than boiling shrimp shells and heads and nearly as tasty.
