My favorite cookbook!!
What a great book! It explains to parents what may seem obvious in the kitchen, but your child- special needs or not, needs to be taught. The recipes are easy and delicious, and the photos are spectacular! This is a really nice gift for anyone who likes to spend time in the kitchen with kids and a must for parents of special needs children.I'm waiting for the next one...

Not a fan.
This book is not what I expected I thought for kids with special needs the recipes would be simple and broken down into pictures. I would not recommend.

My new go-to book for teaching a life skill!
This amazing book teaches an invaluable life skill to special needs and even mainstream children alike. I have bought one copy for myself and another 3 for friends and family with special children who I am confident will benefit. This will be my go-to book for gifts for parents and educators alike. Not only is the content of the book laid out in an easy to follow format, but the illustrations and step by step instructions are arranged in a way that allow special needs children to relate and follow.Deborah French not only brings a life skill into practice, but also presents a wonderful way to bond and bring special and mainstream children, along with their caregivers together through cooking.

I was hoping for more helps with teaching a child ...
I was hoping for more helps with teaching a child with special needs to cook. Ideas for how to teach them the actual skills and keep them safe. Maybe some levels of skills to teach as they advanced. I guess I was looking for something a little different than just recipes.

I work with a group of students with disabilities so I purchased this book hoping it would help me plan my classroom activities. It's a good resource but many of the recipes are way beyond what they are capable of or will likely ever need to make. I wish it included more recipes that are considered Level 1.

Fantastic for all children! Not just those with special needs!
A fantastic book that is fun, simple & easy to use. A really interesting kiddie friendly introduction to cooking and includes good foods and bad foods - showing the effect of both on energy levels. Both me and my kids (age 8 and 6) love it - I will be working my way through all the receipies with them!

An excellent book for kids with special needs. Beautifully written. Provides opportunities for kids to develop new skills with the added bonus of spending fun time with a parent.

Not helpful
Not for young people with severe special needs. This book would be graded as National Curriculum Key stage 3 level
