Gardena 4022 Silent Non Contact Cylinder Lawn Mower

I am satisfied with this mower. Quality, sturdy construction, no deflection or rattling. Handle is solid and doesn't deflect when mowing. The hard plastics can be off putting. Overall, far better construction than my 5yo, made in China, Craftsman.My only issue, the wheels are very poor on damp surfaces. Avoid using on a dewy lawn. Considering the cost of the mower, the wheels should have tread rather than the smooth drum, injection molded plastic it is.Shopping around for a push reel mower, there are few options. Nearly all are low cost/quality pot metal Chinese products like my previous Craftsman. For example, Scotts, Earthwise, Great States and American Lawn Mower are all the same generic rebranded low quality products from China. The quality reel mowers I have found are about twice the price of this, making this a value.The mower could be better, but the gap in build quality from the competition cannot be ignored.Using the mower weekly for 3months at this time. I will update if this lasts less than the Craftsman.

Unbelievably pathetic! Just as I was starting to enjoy it and after only having used it twice for short periods of time, the orange handle that tightens onto the screw that keeps the mower handle straight or bent was completely stripped. You were supposed to be able to unscrew this and bend the handle however apparently you cannot because it's only meant to screw on once! Piece of crap handle! Good potential but cheap parts

Very smooth; cuts beautifully and very easy to push.

UPDATE: I rarely use this mower now. I discovered that it is rather delicate. If you hit a tree root or a bump the bottom falls off and you have to keep reattaching it. So unless you have a flat simple area to mow I would no longer recommend it. The Honda is the way to go, as it is extremely fast, easy and of the highest quality.GERMAN TECHNOLOGY AT ITS FINEST! NO OTHER MOWER CAN COMPARE TO THE OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE OF THIS BEAUTIFUL MACHINE. WORTH EVERY PENNY!
