Was ripped open within 10 minutes
I LOVE stuffy toys. I have a very playful 8 year old jack Russell terrier who loves toys. Tuft toys were the first she didn't destroy with in a few minutes. We have the three circle tug toy that we have had for years! And we got the shark too. The shark held up really well. No stuffing out. She did eventually pull out the pink from the mouth but didn't get actually into it. She had picked the octopus out herself in the pet store but it was over $25 so when I saw it online I was ecstatic for the great price. She got it for her bday. Unfortunately I think it is the head of the octopus that is just too easy for them to get to and it was ripped open and stuffing out within minutes. I removed all the stuffing and she still plays with it but it will soon be garbage once she starts trying to eat it. I would try it for a dog who hasn't been known to be so destructive Bc each tentacle squeaks and it is super cute just wasn't enough to hold up to Abby!

Cute toy, but nothing is indestructible
My Labrador was excited to get such a large toy and after a few minutes of catch, tried to take a leg off...not yet, but it's frayed. The product does say on it's tag, "nothing is indestructible" but it is probably tougher than a lot of cloth toys. I wish it wasn't made in China but it's not a treat and I will keep an eye on it to make sure nothing is ingested. For a medium to less aggressive chewer, I think it's a cute toy and actually stands on it's own because it's stiff. I know it's labeled for more aggressive chewer but I wouldn't leave it alone with your dog is he/she occasionally ingests things as mine does.

Perhaps under supervised play where you can ensure they are not gnawing on it like a bone it would be ok
Observe the picture! This was after 5-7 minutes once my 34 pound rat terrier mix got ahold of it. I don't really wanna leave negative as the company does state on the website that they are "nearly indestructible". Perhaps under supervised play where you can ensure they are not gnawing on it like a bone it would be ok. Using their back teeth creates a scissoring action that goes right thru the layers. I would not purchase again and I plan on throwing this one away to avoid ingestion of the plastic fibers

Excellent value for the money!
This our third tuffy octopus. The other two were larger than this one but it feels just as well made as the others.Despite being an outdoor toy for a group of dogs and is left out 24/7 in the sun and rain, they last a couple of years. They hold up a little longer than regular toys to serious chewing but a determined chewer could destroy it before you got home from work. But the same can be said for your cupboards and couch. Not much can stand up to a determined chewer!I’ve had four adult dogs playing tug and keep away with this toy’s predecessor and the previous octopus is only now degrading on its outer surface due to long term sun exposure. This one will go to the puppies for supervised play until they aren’t savage chewers!

The body is nice and firm and lacks any weak points for her ...
My dog adores this toy. The body is nice and firm and lacks any weak points for her habit of picking at a spot until she can get the stuffing out. We play with this together in two ways. One is to see if I can squeak all the legs before she gets them (she always wants the one I'm squeaking, of course) and in the second game, I toss it in the up in the air sideways. In the case of the latter, it has a nice spin and she likes to leap up and catch it by the top of the head.We have this sea creature and the toucan. In the past we had an alien and a crocodile. Both of those lasted a pretty long time, considering her love of picking a hole in toys and ripping stuffing out. The alien lasted longer of those two. I figured out the trick to these (for our dog) is to find those with minimal weak points. For example, the alien was very like this toy, but it had an sewn-in mouth that had an open look. The material in that mouth area was weaker than the rest and she zeroed in on it in a fair amount of time.A tip for dog parents who have issues with their pets murdering their toys: if they pull stuffing out, keep the shell and restuff it (no need to sew it shut). We did just that with a crocodile from this company she had previously. While it meant picking up all the stuffing off the floor and restuffing that one, we would *put it up for a month or two* at a time. When I didn't mind the mess for a few hours, I'd ask her if she wanted her "murder toy". Maybe she outgrew the habit a bit, but I swear having that toy set aside for that purpose and cheering her on in killing that one toy over and over helped break her of doing it with flimsier toys unless she's given permission. In any case, I think this brand makes fab toys for most dogs. Maybe not *all* but most. I think this and the toucan will last even longer than the alien and croc. Part of the trick is to monitor your dog with any toy as it is and teaching them what they can/can't do under your watch. Now if I want to give my dog a murder toy, she asks permission and I buy cheapies for that play.

Good! Lasted 2 weeks before ripping
Yes, she finally broke into the toy and pulled out the inner stuffing. But to say that it lasted two weeks before doing that instead of 10 minutes, says a lot about the quality of the product. And don’t be fooled, just because the middle stuffing is gone doesn’t mean it’s done. She still loves playing with her octopus and she plays tug-of-war with it and Fetch. This brand is the best one by far, still making plush toys for the destructive ones. My dog doesn’t care for the hard tubber toys as much.

My dog loves it.
My dog, a german shepherd loves his Tuffy dog toys. He's the type of dog that frequently destroys his toys, but one that's always been fond of stuffed animals so it's always been hard for me to find one that he wouldn't tear apart. But after buying him a Tuffy alligator and seeing how well it held up to his destruction I had to buy him more of them. He's had these toys over a year now and there isn't a single tear on them and he plays with them everyday. So if you have a destructive dog who loves stuffed toys I'd definitely recommend the Tuffy brand since they can take the punishment.

Pete, and other tuffy toys, before and after ...
We bought the tuffys ultimate ring first, and since then have had a number of these toys. Yes, all have been ripped to shreds in varying amounts of time, as no toy is indestructible to a dog who likes playing and deconstructing things. However we buy more as they are much enjoyed, are given under supervision, and our dog isn't crazy enough to eat the stuffing or braided edgings.I have attached a few pictures, old Pete ( 3 months old now, but still a favourite!. I mended him several times with heavy duty silk thread before he lost all his stuffing and one of his legs ! ) and new Pete, who arrived today .Also the remains of the lobster and a 3 way ring - which our dog still trundles around the house with both.I do recommend these toys. NO soft toy is indestructible, however, if you are prepared to reinforce the first bits of damage, they can last quite a long time and the pleasure our dog gets from them is immeasurable!

Great toy but didn't last 10mins
Really lovely toy but our dog had the stuffing out of the main body within 10mins. He somehow got into the main body at the bottom. I would have expected it to last longer for the price but he's still playing catch with it minus the majority of stuffing.I would recommend the toy for a dog that doesn't destroy everything in minutestFYI - He is a master at destroying toys, haven't found a toy that he can't get into within a matter of minutes yet and he's 4yrs!

Very Poor
As this is supposed to be virtually indestructible it lasted three days before my dog ripped it apart with the stuffing all over the floor. As this was a expensive toy i would advise that you do not buy it. Very disappointed.

Very strong dog toy for chewers
This tuffy dog toy is about the only toy our standard poodle hasn't chewed up in minuets, and I have bought many toys.It is so well put together with what must be extra strong edging and material. I would buy this brand name again when buying dog toys, excellent.

Total waste of money
Very poor quality. My two dogs pulled this apart in ten minutes. The garden looked like a snow storm had hit it. Would not recommend this toy at all. Would give a zero star rating but have to rate it on at least a one.
