DO NOT BUY!! Cut one open to find out why the signal was weak. It’s two tape measures put together. That’s it nothing else. Waste of money!! Do not buy!!!!

Ive seen a lot of bad reviews on this product and YES, it does have two pieces of measuring tape inside, however, This antenna works a hell of a lot better than the antenna that came with the Baofeng UV-5R handset HAM radio. I could barely pick up one or two local repeaters with the the original antenna, but with this antenna, I can pick up transmittions from many many miles away.I hope this helps.

I bought three antennas for myself and my friends during Airsoft. One came packaged individually, already folded, and would randomly flop over onto my helmet, creating confusion as to whether or not I had been shot. These antennas are also heavy, and the manufacturer seems to have taken that into account by providing little gaskets to put into the gap between the radio and antenna. Other than that, it offers great range with clear voice quality. Used with Baofeng UV-5R.

It did not snap erect as the others of this type I’ve purchased before, it functions correctly but must be kept as strapped together.
