I purchased the small color wheel and it measures 5.25 inches in diameter. I can offer no guidance or insight as to how it compares to the large wheel. I can tell you the small wheel is a great purchase that fits in both my sewing and yarn bag.

Is this color wheel good for cosmetology school?

Not sure. I use it for quilting & other craft projects.
