Q: would this work between a pair of active speakers (Dynaudio) with rca and the Marantz NA 7004 network streamer??

Probably, if the input to the speakers is low level RCA patch cord and the amplifier is internal to the speakers. Not sure about the streamer.

Q: If I have a record player with a built in pre-amp and powered speakers, can I connect the two with this to control the volume?

Yes. Just put it before the speakers, after the preamp circuit.

Q: Is this easy to disassemble so you can mount it in dash? Does it have nut under knob?

No, I don't think you can mount this through the dash. The plate it is attached to has four feet and protrudes outwards in front past the base of the unit. You would have to mount it on the dash or upside down under the dash with the knob extending. I can tell you it is an excellent volume control. Very well made. Maybe the mounting plate is removable so you can mount it through the dash but I don't recall. I seem to remember that the base is integral to the unit but I could be mistaken. You could always get "creative" and saw or cut off the front feet so the unit would fit flush with the back of the dash. It looks like it does have a nut under the knob.

Q: Will this work if I only use a single input, and output for my home subwoofer?

Should work, it's just a volume control with RCA inputs and outputs.
