Ecco Men's Track II High GORE-TEX waterproof outdoor hiking Boot

I've been a field biologist for 21 years, and I've worn about all types of boot over the course of my work throughout Florida for the last 14 years, 6 before that in the south-central Ozark region in Missouri, and a few trips abroad. In my first 5 years I tried 7 different brands of boot - that stopped when I tried my first pair of Ecco's Men's Track II Gore-Tex boot, and I've never looked back.I've only owned 3 pair since 1995, when I first learned of Ecco; when fitted correctly, this boot feels as close to a slipper as a boot can, and I've only gotten slight blisters a few times, mostly due to ovewear rather than product design. It has been subjected to dry, 100 degree days in uplands or wetlands, pushed through dense vegetation and gets snagged all the time...yet the shoes just stand the test day in and day out.I can't say enought about this model boot - it's the only serious field boot for me working in the SE Coastal Plain as well as the prairies and the rugged and rocky landscape of the Missouri & Arkansas Ozarks. I don't need another boot. Snake boots...na; 9" mid-calf boots..na.I could go on and on. But if you spend a serious amount of out of doors or around brush and debris, if not field work, the boot is worthy of every penny. I hand wash and oil my boots twice a year and then just knock off the mud or dirt from the boots and rinse them with a hose and let the air dry in the shade. Follow that simple cleaning routine and a pair of Ecco Track II boots will give you many years of great service.Those of us who work in a certain job so we can be in the field (the definition of field bioligist to me) make our money with our feet, and spending a bit extra on a shoe that is hand-stiched in Europe and is a great design find it worth the extra money.Keep up the great work! This boot is truly one of a kind.

This is my 2nd pair of Ecco Track II high top boots in the last 10 years. I also have a pair of the low tops but I prefer the comfort and support of the high top boot.These are very well made boots and the seams are flawless. They are so comfortable right out of the box and require no break in period. My ankles feel extremely well suported. The boots look great and I wear mine as casual dress with Levi jeans. I wear them all day log with no discomfort.If it rains, no problem as these are lined with GORE-TEX for waterproof, breathable wear.I don't hike in these boots because I prefer Merrell and Lowa for serious hiking. However, I can assure you that the Ecco soles are extremely durable and do not wear out easily.The Ecco Track II is not cheap but in this case you certainly get what you pay for. And Amazon had the boots for $60 less than the mall store price.

I tend to be very hard on shoes. I can go through a pair of Keens in six months, and lesser shoes even faster. But, ECCOs have become my shoe of choice for more than 15 years. I used to have to find them in high-priced specialty stores or order them directly from ECCO; but, the effort and cost was worth it to find comfortable, performing shoes that last me years instead of months.Currently, I have four pair of ECCO's, brown and black moccasins for work, and Track II shoe for hiking and walking. I'm on my second pair of Track II shoes. After 10 years of use, uppers of the first pair are still in exceptional shape; but, the bottom finally wore down. While shopping for a good pair of motorcycle boots, I realized that it was virtually impossible to find a motorcycle boot that could double as a walking and hiking boot while on distance rides. Ends up that the Track II is significantly better quality than most motorcycle boots, especially the "Made in China" Harley boots. The Track II boot provides me with all day comfort, good protection from flying objects, heavy waterproof leather, good grip at greasy intersections, and exceptional performance for off bike walking and hiking. A bonus: They're great for casual Friday's at work.

I have enjoyed Ecco Track II shoes and boots ever since I was introduced to them when working for Nordstrom. Have not bought them since I left Nordstrom and lost that 33% managers discount.Now that I found them for a huge discount below retail/MSRP on Amazon, I am once again enjoying these high quality supportive comfortable durable GoreTex equipped shoes!These shoes are. In my opinion, worth the $229 retail price, but money is tight for me now so getting such a high quality shoe for such a large discount is fantastic!As for quality, these shoes are nowmade in China, but I have seen no change whatsoever in quality since I bought my first pair of Ecco Track II shoes that were made in Denmark.Love the shoes, love the price!
