Yes, my son is a lefty and his teacher gave him this grip at school. We are buying more for home because he likes it. It's worth a try!

Yes however, I did not like these pencil grippers because of the formation of it. They're are others that are much simpler and work the same

Q: It's this appropriate for a three years old?

These are great devices for supporting and promoting a more functional grasp for children who have started writing. Developmentally, it is not an appropriate for a 3 year old. Grasp develop normally, A 3 year old may still not have developed hand dominance and may be moving from a fisted grasp to a digital grasp. Please wait before giving a 3 year old a pencil with a Grotto grip. Look on line for normally developing grasp in children. Best regards!
