Yes you can it will get all the grime and grease that's on any surface

No, don't use it on real wood. I found out the hard way its damaging to that. Use something like Simple Green, which can also remove oily residues.

Q: I have some wood furniture that has been in a house of smokers and ha nicotine all over it and smells like stale cigarettes. will it remove nicotine?

To kill any odors, this kills cigarette smells. Nok Out Odor Remover, Pet Deodorizer and Cleaning Spray. I believe this is the stuff they use in meat packing plants.
