The collars I received might not be the best quality or the most waterproof or excel in the receiver range.They just work, every time. The collar pieces don't have to be turned on and off. The devices go to sleep to preserve the battery and wake up if you try to use them. Just charge them once and they will last for weeks on a charge. MInes are now on their 4th week with a single charge and are being used for an hour twice a day!!!I had already 3 other types of collars and none of those lasted more than two weeks on a charge.Planning to buy two additional pieces as I tend to lose the remotes while running with the dog!
