I am not sure why this is frequently returned. Maybe people just don’t read the instructions. You have to open the back cap and remove the little round piece of paper from the back of the battery first. I have bought 5 of these and all work just fine. What works even better for me is the plastic tube sent to use if you want to use AAA batteries fits perfectly around the 21700 batteries that fit my vape. I have 8 of those, so I am never without a charged light. Are they 5000 lumens, no, but they are a $9.50 flashlight that works. It provides plenty of light if the power goes out or you need to work on the car in an emergency.

Small to tiny hand-held LED flashlights are all the rage right now. Unfortunately the batteries on those flashlights lose their charge really fast. It may be okay since they're all rechargeable, but I prefer the general utilitarian service life of old Ray-O-Vac zinc/carbon batteries in the flashlights of yesteryear.Modern lithium-ion reachargeable batteries inside LED flashlights are engineered to produce extremely bright light, but all that brightness comes at the cost of using up service life. It's a problem because the manufacturers forgot we need useful SERVICE LIFE from every flashlight/battery. So they make these tiny flashlights with brilliant light beams and negligible service life before you gotta recharge the thing.This product has two rechargeable lithium-ion cells. Lasts twice as long as the smallish single-cell version, which is still over 6 1/5 inches long. (This product is ~10.5 inches long)Thank you for reading my rant. If I may add, It seems flashlight makers are competing with each other on the basis of brightnes and features. Since brightness is controlled by whoever makes LED's, they have to compete on feature sets they can control, and in my opinion they've gone off the deep end. I don't need strobing. I don't need to morse code SOS. I don't need the complexity of using a single switch to sequence different 'modes'. Just give me a effing simple flashlight with usable brightness and a simple off/on function. Is that too much to ask?One more point: I've noticed that these flashlights 'get lost' on my desktop, in a cluttered drawer, in the trunk of my car or wherever I place them. Basically they disappear from sight almost as soon as I put them down. That's because they're all black, and black is perfect clutter camouflage. Simple fix is to gorilla glue a bright fluorescent orange strip of ribbon on each one and look for that when looking for - where did I leave that darned flashlight?Thank you for reading this.

I bought this Flashlight a while back, for emergencies. So, I didn't check it to see if it worked.Well, I was bad. I charged it up and put it aside. WRONG!!! I should have charged it up and made sure it worked.Too late, couldn't return it because it didn't work. I plugged it into the outlet to charge, and it only works when it's charging. So, I tried to return it months later, and Amazon couldn't...which is correct. I tried sending a message to the company that sells it... No reply. I called customer service....Dead number. So,Boys and girls..... Don't be like me, who didn't go through the protocol. Make sure it works after purchase. Because now I'm stuck with a bad flashlight. Don't get me wrong...I bought one before this one, of the same, and that one works great, even though, I've dropped it on cement, has a crack on the glass, and it STILL WORKS. So, I got a Lemon, what can I say??? LOL

The light works great but the rubber boot that covers the USB charging port constantly comes off.

DONT BUY!! I should’ve known based on the tattered generic box it came in, with a small card of instructions, but I was excited to get a powerful flashlight. It worked the first night. Plugged in to charge, and it won’t charge and hasn’t worked since. Went out and bought a new USB cord thinking that may solve the problem and it still won’t charge!UPDATE- 5/13/24! - 1 DAY after my scathing review the manufacturer offered me a full refund or a replacement. Cool…. I took a chance on the replacement and it’s GREAT after arriving 2 weeks later on a boat from 🇨🇳 China.. I have no idea what the product number is because it came in a tattered white box with no instructions just as the one before but this one works so far… Blinding light with zoom! Lightsaber mode! LED display for power percentage, and many modes of “light” including SOS. It’s heavy, metal, and large. It’s a weapon without the light. I’m very happy with the replacement and hope it’ll continue to work for the foreseeable future.

This flashlight exceeded my expectations in workmanship and performance. The metal casing is crafted to give the user a secure grip with some heft and is going to last a long time. Two lithium-ion batteries provide the power and are rated to last 4 or more hours in continuous use. Battery life indicator lights give you an idea of how much charge remains.An interesting feature is a side mounted LED panel that provides either white or red light. You can stand the flashlight on end and use the side panel light to provide light for a working area or as a bright flashing red light for roadside emergencies.I live in a rural area and took some photos on a dark, moonless night. You'll see a lighted view of my house illuminated by this flashlight from a drone photo; the drone on a table with the side panel light providing illumination to prepare the drone for flight; and a view of a large maple tree that was 200 feet away and illuminated by this flashlight. (Photos edited for noise but not otherwise enhanced. The white blur in the house view is my dog moving around.)I've used this light at night to walk up my rural road. I can scan an adjacent field for deer and other critters, and, most importantly, I can see a skunk or porcupine before the dog does! Get this light.
