How are these for rebar work? How do they perform in environments with sharp edges and potential punctures?

These Knee Pads would be very difficult to puncture with rebar unless you are trying to punch a hole in them. Scratches, yes they can and do scratch on rebar edges. Any sharp edges will be a potential source of scratching on the Knee Pad, but you don't have to worry about penetration through the Knee Pad, if that happens you are in a very dangerous environment and need a different kind of knee protection.

can you slide to the left or right?

No you can’t and you also do need to. The pads under knees are so comfortable as you put it on. Since it has an upper knee part and a lower knee part, when you bend your knees while sitting, the pad had to be in the right place, impossible to turn it to the left or right. I am extremely satisfied with this product and do not hesitate to recommend it.

as a tile setter I am up and down all day and my biggest promblem is the knee pads slipping and I end up wearing them around my shin. do this slip?

The Velcro and snap closure combination make these very secure. The more relevant concern then becomes if your belt keeps your britches up. If those sag, the pant leg sags, then the pad slipping is a moot point.

Does anyone know if these? Will fit a heavy set guy? I am learning to weld pipe and need high quality knee pads for the overhead.

These fit my calves but BARELY fit my thighs. Like they work but that will be the fail point eventually when the sliver of Velcro that reaches around my thigh stops sticking. I’m not a small person and on top of that I’ve always had abnormally large legs so I’m good with that but its not like they’re infinitely large.
