No, Mylar I am the stuff the fancy balloons are made of, not a fiber like Angelina. Think of it as extremely fancy Saran Wrap, without the sticky properties

Q: Can i use the shiny "space blanket " mylar for making a shawl? Or is it totally different?

I wouldn't suggest making any type of clothing with just the mylar. You could use in as part of a design on a cloth shawl. I think It is too thin for anything more than embroidery.
