Q: how does this connect the keyboard and mouse to the computers? I see outputs but no usb inputs. Thanks

Yes. The answer is that you MUST use the HDMI cable they provide with the HDMI, USB and audio inputs that plug into the computer end and just the lone HDMI input that goes into the monitor. NOT JUST ANY HDMI CABLE WILL DO. So if there's already and HDMI cable in your monitor, take it out and use their magic cable with all the USB, audio and HDMI that go into your computer. It took me a little while to figure this out.

I am not sure I really understand your question, but I will answer it based on what I think you are asking... The KVM comes with two cables that are "HDMI". Really the cables are HDMI cables with a USB cable attached. Think if them as two different cables, though they are attached together which technically makes them one cable. The USB part of the combined cable connects to a USB port on the PC. There is a USB port on the back of the KVM that allows you to connect a USB device to be shared by both computers. I use mine for a keyboard and mouse. I hope that helps.

Yes, it works great. As their documentation states, I had to move the blue tooth sender for my mouse to the front of the unit to get the scroll wheel to work. My wired keyboard works great from the back.

Q: How do you turn off the beep? I have tried [right ctrl]+[right ctrl]+[b]+[enter]

I tried that same sequence, as outlined in the manual, and it did not work for me either. In fact I found it hard to switch "Hot Keys" back off after trying it.
