The Amazing Spider-Man Worldwide 1

Spidey Goes Global
Peter Parker is now the CEO of his own company, Parker Industries. He has facilities located all over the world, and he has appointed his alter ego, Spider-Man, as his company mascot/bodyguard. In other words, Spider-Man has gone global, and as a result has a bigger neighborhood to protect. And it doesn't take long for trouble to strike, as the company becomes a target of a terrorist organization known as the Zodiac. But why? And how will Spidey handle this plus the pressures of running a company? Read the book to find out. Overall, this book was good. The story had the feel of a classic Spider-Man story, yet it also introduced some cool new things, like the new web shooters (they now have multiple cartridges and can shoot different kinds of webs). The art was very clean cut as well. I recommend this book to longtime Spider-Man fans, as well as new readers who want to give the web slinger a try.

Peter Parker...now Tony Stark? Meh...
Well, this was a better Iron Man story than a Spider-Man story. Yeah, that's what Dan Slott has done in the series. Worldwide takes Peter to new places for him but smacks of Tony Stark (its even mentioned in the book). While I trust Slott to make this right, I don't love this version of Spidey. Added to the fact that we went from Parker Industries in ruins to them being the next Apple. I assume it will all be explained but, off putting. I like the subplots brewing but the main villains were, and always will be, lame. The art by Camuncoli was very good. Overall, a up and down book that can go either direction from here.

True to Spidey, yet new and fun
This was a really fun, interesting version of spiderman. The art was also great, along with the writing. I liked how Prowler was back, so there were definitely homages to older Spidey material, while giving us some cool, new innovations, like the new spider mobile. All-in-all, the comic was true to the character while putting him in a new-and-interesting situation, while maintaining the light-yet-serious tone of Spiderman. Good read.

OK
Like the Red Goblin story-line, I was disappointed by this one. It's not bad, but it definitely does not live up to the high bar that Slott set with Big Time and Superior Spider-man.

Love Siderman
I enjoyed this Spider-Man. I think he makes a good CEO of the Peter Parker Industries. I am excited about reading the whole series. The art was awesome. Thank you Brian Bendis. I love your work!

A successful Peter Parker? It kinda works.
Took a while to get used to the more modern, "Bruce Wayne-like" and "Tony Stark wannabe" Peter Parker, but this was a good story line overall.

Four Stars
Good work by Slott. Starts a little slow, but picks up in Vol 2. Spidey fans need this!

Slott pushed it too hard!
I love Dan Slotts run on Spider-Man! Superior Spider-Man showed a grown-up Peter Parker (though it wasn't Peter) and what would be possible, if Peter wouldn't always find an excuse for not being successful. And Slot continued this kind of Spider-Man/Peter Parker in Amazing Spider-Man after Peter got control over his body again. But now in Worldwide Slott is pushing this approach too hard, in my opinion. Peter Parker is suddenly the founder of Parker Industries, a global corporation like Apple, and he has even SHIELD as customers like Stark Industries. Peter also seems to be a charity billionaire like Bill Gates or Mark Zuckerberg and is funding the "Uncle Ben's foundation" (it sounds a bit ridiculous since Uncle Ben's is a rice brand). He drives like James Bond and speaks Mandarin ...... I mean thats all a total overkill. I really liked the new Peter Parker, but why couldn't Slott just take a easy and modest approach. I would prefer Peter as founder of a New York startup company. That would fit. This is way too much and the story isn't that good too.But I blame it on Marvel, at least in parts. Guess they pushed Slott to totally exaggerate his approach on Peter. However, its definitely a downfall compared to the great Spider-Man story arcs Slott delivered the years before (though there were also better and worse ones, but most of them better).
