I would think 7 years is Senior. My Cat is 13 she has been eating Nulo for several years. Only dry food he will eat.

Can this just be mixed with other grain free cat food to last longer rather than mix to switch completely?

I see no reason why not. In fact it is good, I read, to change the kittie's food over gradually.
