Are the eyes sewn in?

They are hard beads, I would say they are glued in. I used the Turkey buzzard in a couple of murder mystery dinner shows. No problems at all.

Does this plushie contain any metals?

nope! the feet are thickly packed with fluff and don’t move like they have metal. the wing ends have beads in them.

Do the wings extend out, or are they sewn into the sides?

The extend out. If the bird is 12" long, it has at least an 18" wingspan.They're floppy and have beanbag fillings (in the "arm" part of the wing).The connection between each wing and the body might be only 3".

Can anyone tell me if this is filled with fiber fill or that styrofoam bead-type stuffing
