I purchased this to use on the seat of my Pelican Catch 100XD. It is a foot powered peddle drive kayak. After peddling around the lake for hours, my butt gets sore. It takes a bit of pleasure from an otherwise pleasant day on the lake. After looking around at different options, I opted for this cushion. It has made a world of difference. I have used it on 2 trips now, and I can say with full confidence that this seat makes an amazing difference. An unexpected bonus is that it also makes my kayak more silent. When peddling this kayak without the cushion, the seat legs rub a bit on the kayak and the seat fabric rubs on the seat frame, making an annoying noise each time you push the peddles. I use my kayak for fishing, so I like to be silent as possible. This cushion took that sound away. The cushion absorbs the movement and I am now in stealth mode. It also makes the seat higher, which I like. A lot of people in my kayak social media groups alter their seats to elevate them. It makes fishing easier. So, like I said, the extra 2-3 inches I get from this cushion help a lot. That pro also creates a con, however, as the seat's back rest becomes "shorter" and I have noticed that my upper back is missing that support that is lost when using the cushion. I corrected that by reclining the seat a bit. It wasn't a perfect fix, but it helped. I logged 4 hours on the lake last night and my back and backside both feel fine today. Just to be clear though, this isn't going to eliminate the pain in your butt completely. I still notice myself shifting around here and there to relieve some pressure, but believe me, there is a WORLD of difference between using this cushion and not using it. I also used it on a 2 hour car drive and it was lovely. I had to make my car seat lower though because the added height created by the cushion changes everything I am used to. If you get this for the car, keep that it mind. It is okay if you have car seats that can be raised/lowered. If you don't, I am sure it will be fine, it just will take a few trips to develop new muscle memory.

UPDATED: like with anything in life patience is a virtue with this wonder. As badly as I bashed the product here I am months later to sit down, have that plate of crow and like it. This item does help tremendously for long sitting. I can say without a doubt bad posture will make this item feel like a standard chair pillow. With good posture, you are literally sitting good, comfortable and pretty (handsome for men). Anyways. The gel is amazing with the right posture. It doesn't have signs of wear or whatever gel looks like with cheap quality. When I have overnight stays I take this baby with me. When is switch rooms. Guess what? This baby comes with me. You will not t go wrong in investing in this priority seat cushion. Give your posterior a daily massage.-Pros; wonder purple gel, improve posture, durable, breathable and portable-Cons: little pricey (that's all I got, really-apologies: Purple I left my original review just so you can see patience really is a virtue with this item. Take your tOne, Amazon's return policy give you a great cushion to try out the device. Really follow the posture rule of thumb.Besides the item being overpriced for what is essentially wonder gel. The egg test doesn't prove it's soft because the egg doesn't sit for hours in it. It isn't what is adveriesed when the basic memory foam offered for way less in the categories offer better cushion (I own one still). The scale in which they justify quality isn't accurate because for $80 dollars you get a basic cushion from Office Depot. My guess is the casual lax version which is in the hundreds is probably the above average cushion support that should be purchased. Don't trust the scam of the egg. Again. Eggs don't sit for hours at a time if they did they would crack. I do not recommend this price point product at all.The customer service response? "Adjust monitor height" that's what I was told. What does that have to do with my bottom?? Zero. Do I need to say it again. The eggs doesn't have to sit down.Cost: ridiculous for basically wonder gel. That's all. Just gel with waves.Final verdict: should be an infomercial or "as seen on TV" because it a low grade seat cushion for a high dollar price. Can't wait to get my money back for this near scam of wording. Don't believe the hype and keep your money AND EGGS. This company doesn't care about how much overprice an avg cushion. Very comfortable as a seat cushion. Be sure to check whether it’s for hard surface or soft surface. Product description noted this one is for hard surface and I used it on my office chair (soft surface). Not very comfy. I switch it to a hard chair and it’s very very comfortable. I might need to get one for soft surface for it to work on my office chair.
