Johnson Hardware 152670SC 1500 Soft Close Series Commercial Grade Pocket Door Frame for 2x4 Stud Wall (30 inch x 84 inch)

I have installed several pocket doors in the past using different hardware brands and this is by far the highest quality. Packaged extremely well, high quality hardware and very detailed/informative installation instructions. The rollers have bearings verses bushings making the transit of my heavy solid wood door effortless. This was the first pocket door I installed with the soft open/close feature and really like this feature. All future installations will be with this kit.

Four stars because there is no option for complaint about the seller. I am a finish carpenter and have been working in construction for 40 years. Item came in box that was slightly mangled at the ends, had been opened and then re-taped shut. Nothing looked damaged so I started to install the pocket door. Instructions leave something to be desired but I found my way along alright. After a test fit for width and before committing myself to completion I looked in the bag of parts, (the one that instructs you to leave it there until you are ready to hang the door), and there were no brackets to hold the metal studs to the floor. I looked all around Amazon's site to see how I could get hold of the seller but only got the option of getting a call from a customer representative that had an accent that I did not recognize and a bad phone connection to boot. Fortunately for me, I have a work around for the installation but for the money spent and irritation I probably should have just gone to a local supplier. Very disappointed in the experience and will think twice in future before ordering an item from Amazon that requires assembly.

Great product, very well made and much higher quality than the pocket door kit sold at Home Depot. I had never installed a pocket door myself but it really wasn’t difficult after watching the videos on YouTube. As other people have commented, the written instructions that come with the frame are virtually useless as they are. So poorly written.

Do not buy this product. I don’t know why it has such good reviews. My contractor actually recommended I return it because it allows too much flex on the walls. But I had a 1 3/4 door and he couldn’t find anything better so he still installed it. I was very excited about the soft open and close features but they BARELY work. It is also rated as heavy duty but I bought a solid wood door and it is so difficult to open and close... the tracks seem to barely be able to handle the load. I’m just hoping I don’t have additional issues in the future

Did not match the picture. The picture shows the hollow metal studs that surround wooden studs. This is not what I got. Reference my picture. Everything related to the header was correct. They even installed the soft close mechanisms in the track so I did not have to do that. I did not bother to send it back because I think it will work fine as it came. The door will not getting heavy use, only closed occasionally. But shame on the company for not sending what was promised by the advert. I expect the one I got is an older model of pocket door frame and they are trying to get rid of them. Not nice. They could have at least contacted me to see if I was willing to take what they had but they did not. That aside, the model I did get is superior to the original wooden pocket door frames -- which I helped to install in a house more than 10 years ago and it was a nightmare to get it right, and you had to be careful not to knock the door off the track. These pocket door systems are far superior -- even this 'older' model they sent me. The wheels can not be knocked off the track and the door will open and close smoothly as long as everything is plum and level. Super easy to install. I did it by myself and I am a 59 year old week-end carpenter. I have not hung the door yet, because I plan on making the door -- it's just what I like to do. We cook a lot and I got tired of cleaning up grease all over the house -- floats in the air. Even with a vent-a-hood it escapes. So I decided to close off the kitchen. With the pocket door, it can stay open and we can only close it when we are cooking. I am old school, I tried the new way -- the open floor plan -- and I am miserable. For us, the kitchen is strictly utilitarian. I do not entertain in my kitchen. I have a living room; parlor room and dining room for that. So the pocket door will be great. I can close off and open the kitchen at will and the door does not need any swing space. This door system went in so easy that I plan on putting at least two more pocket doors in the house, but I will not purchase through this vendor.

Missing parts, packaging completely destroyed and taped back up like I purchased it from a garage sale used. Project is delayed because I can’t complete the installation due to missing parts that probably fell out of open packaging while on route. Overpriced and bad service

Would buy this again. Instructions are ok...but online installation videos are good.

Easy to install. Excellent soft close mechanism.
