The Meaning of the Holy Qur'an for School Children: Hardcover Edition Volume 1 of 2 Review: Great for children and adults - This book is written in a way that is easy to understand. I love the way every Surah has an explanation and a backstory to give a better idea. For example, there is historical lessons that help you understand the text better. It helps me understand the Quran better, that way I am able to explain to my kids better. Review: Finally a Quran for Children and those new to the Quran - I have read several Quranic translations that stand out as a single volume work, but I havent seen a work that specifically caters to the younger audience (school children). One could state that T.B Irvings Quran translation to English was meant to bring simple American english to the fore. As any book for children, the work (1) has a translation of the Quranic verse and in many instances a "Background to the Sura / Verse" - it makes for much intelligible text (2) to that Quranic verse if there is a theme - that theme is shared (3) and if there is a reason for revelation to the Quran with a meaningful story that is also shared (4) and since the primary and first recipient of revelation is the Prophet Muhammad (S) a story or a narration from him is related and (5) where the work where a visual or picture is drawn, it is also meant to draw the reader in to their own world, and part of this pictorial presentation is the use of bold and italicized font to bring home a point, and (6) Stories from the lives of the Prophet's (S) Companions are also scattered through out the work Many of the ethical mores of the Quranic verses and its identification by bold or italicized makes it easy to identify the critical themes. Lastly, it is so confusing what this work covers as opposed to the other Quranic Juzz for Children, that I seem to recall are in 3 volumes - do these two works compliment each other or are they in over-lap. This is a beautiful work and takes itself to respect the attention span of Children when reading their Divinely revealed text

Easy to read and understand!
I'm reading this as an adult to understand and I love it. I've learned so much and can't wait to finish it. I highly recommend to anyone who wants a better understanding of the Quran along with some stories as well.

Very great resource
As a teacher I find this book can be a great reference when trying to explain Qur'an to children in simple terms. I really like the way the author, Yahiya Emerick, took the time to explain the stories behind each surah even with all of the details. He does so very well and in a manner that is very child friendly. Alhamdulilah. As with any resource, however, it is important to take time to verify the accuracy of the author's interpretation. I wouldn't rely on this book as the only resource for teaching Qur'an to children. Other sources like Tafsir Ibn Kathir etc, can serve as reliable references as well. It's a thick heavy book and the cover looks exactly as is shown in the picture.

Understanding the meaning of the holy book
All the holy books are written in old languages. It is very hard to understand what the author is trying to convey. This book written in modern easy English language for all ages to understand. I checked the book everything looks great. All I can say is may you be rewarded with the permission to enter Heaven You have taken a great task and made it easy for people who want to understand what their lord is trying to tell them. God bless

The best explanation for the holy Quran for kids
This is a must have for every Muslim family with kids that are in need of an English interpretation to the Quran. It's language is so easy to understand ( my son is in third grade and can read it on his own) . Plus in some verses it does not only interpret the meaning but also tells the story behind it . I actually ordered more of it to give it as gifts to other Muslim families .

This is a must have if you kids in the house
I have 2 boys in elementary school I was looking for some good quran translations and stories for them. I went to couple of local places and bought a lot of books. I also ordered this to see and I am delightfully surprised. This is a very very simple translation of quran even so that I read it with the kids everyday and I enjoy it and the kids enjoy it too I had their cousins over for the New Years and even they sat down and read it. One of them is 13 and other is turning 14. I actually gave them my copy and ordered another one for my kids. I think i am going to get a couple of more to pass it to all the kids in my family. Each section has the translation and a short background in simple English which is easy to read even for adults. I highly recommend this for kids and even for adults.

Awesome..kids love this and they are motivated to read on their own.
This is written in a language that is interesting and easy to understand for the kids. In addition to the explanation of the verses, context of the verses explaining the reasons for revelation also given. So far I have purchased 4 copies of this - 3 given as gifts. Kids are motivated to read on their own and my friends have thanked me for this valuable gift. (purchased so far 10+ copies; updated 11/14/15). Yahiya: thanks for this work. May God bless you and family.

I couldn’t recommend this version more. This will be my go to recommendation for non scholars, new converts, teens, kids. The author provides context behind every section of ayat which helps the reader get really immersed and understand the revelation very well. It also provides correct translation of Sura An-Nisa v34 which is the first thing I check in every translation. I cannot recommend a translation to anyone that misstates that verse. Once you’ve read this one, I’d recommend his adult version The Meaning of the Holy Quran which provides even more context.

Excellent and really easy read for children. It's not a like an adult or literal translation but is translated into easy sentences with easy meaning. It's a very thick book hence the price. I am going to bind this book as I can see it opening up and pages coming out if used alot. Highly recommend for any household with children. This is in particular for children 11+. As an RE teacher, it's good resource to have.

What is really great about this book is that in every surat (chapter of the Quran) it will indicate the different parts. So it's not anymore a reading where you feel lost by change of topics, but you know that you are entering a new one. Before every surat too, he will give you an overview of the content, the period of revelation and other. And because it suppose to be for children, you have some nice drawings in it :-). I recommande it without a doubt.
