Vango Unisex's Basho Folding Walking Pole, black and red,One Size

I have found packing walking poles awkward as they end up having to go diagonally in my suitcase. These pack parallel to the sides which makes packing the case easier. I can also fit them inside my rucksack if necessary. I have used them a few times now and have leaned on them heavily going up and down hill and they have been fine. I have not been concerned about them breaking. They are slightly heavier than my telescopic poles.

Pole itself looked a decent pole the money, however Amazon's description of it being extendable from 67cm is incorrect. At it's shortest I measured 115cm. I had to return as too long for me.

Great hiking poIes, but Amazon doesn't describe their length correctly as so many people have stated. The correct dimensions are 115cm (without rubber tip/shoe), extendable to a maximum of 20cm, giving a maximum potential height of 135cm.

On the amazon website it states that its "extendable length [is] from 67 cm to 135 cm", making it "ideal for all users." This is incorrect. At its shortest the pole is 115 cm, and its full extended length is just short of 135cm. Giving the fact that your elbow should be at a 90 degree angle (or even slightly more), you need generally to be over 1.80m (ca. six feet) to use this. If you are not, don't buy.I bought this as a gift for a friend and it was too late to return.

Better than my previous poles.Used maybe 10 times so far, once I got the length and the all-important grip right, I made some great progress.Seem a decent build quality, like the fact they fold down to fit in rucksack, and the shock-absorber.

Folds up well (watch out for the V notch- DO NOT catch the cabling linking the pole parts in it!), sturdy and good degree of compression.
