Looks pretty in the bag
I added this to the rose clay trying to make natural lavender color in my cold process soap... Anyway. I know the clay will do good things to the soap in terms of very gentle exfoliation even if the color did not take at all. Funny story, the fragrance I used did interesting things and all of it turned from custard colored to kind of deep tan, almost Café au lait. It is lovely. Not blue, or purple. Ha ha.

Works well
Cleans the pores does mildly dry out your face. Would not recommend but weekly. There is a notice difference.

Great for DIY masks
Love to use this in DIY face masks with licorice root powder, pumpkin seed oil, and amla power for an anti-inflammatory facial detox. Really gentle clay.

Not great for bath bombs
I tried this in my soaps and bath bombs. In my soap it turned a muted purple color which is great for my soaps! But in my bath bombs… unfortunately it smells a bit ocean-y because of the algae so I will only be using for my soaps.

Bad quality doubtful if food grade
I've only bought bentonite clay one other time and it was a totally different quality than this. The first kind I bought was grey and had a smoky flavor when drinking it. It was food grade, like this was supposed to be too. The other stuff dissolved good in water and didn't get gritty, like small chunks of sand/glass. This stuff that I purchased here, however, doesn't dissolve well and a couple times I thought I was crunching on glass between my teeth. It's brown and tastes like dirt. Not the smoky clay flavor the other brand has. It's really gross. I also bought fenugreek powder from this same brand and it was awful tasting too. So I'm assuming the quality on this is bad.Sadly since it's food and opened and used I can't even return it. I'm disabled on limited income so these scam items in here get annoying. Quality control really needs to be something Amazon integrates but I know that won't happen.

Pretty Clay, but for soap making it's not blue.
I was all excited when I saw this beautiful, blue clay powder to finally find a natural way, not using micas, to get a blue color in my cold process soap making. Unfortunately, when it came into contact with the trace (and lye) it turned the trace a purplish grey which isn't bad, it just isn't blue like it's natural state. I'll use it for the purple color it can give me, so not all is lost. I'll just have to keep searching for the elusive blue I want.
