Awesome stuff! Better than wet or iced towels!
I got this a box of this stuff as part of my "doomsday" kit after the tragic earthquake and tsunami in Japan. One night soon after I got this box I nuked .. err .. over nuked gravy in a bowl to pour over some meatloaf. No, this was not a planned test! I picked the bowl up, burned 3 of the fingers on my right hand while using a towel to pick it up one handed, and then dropped the white hot bowl of molten gravy which then proceeded to coat and cook all 4 finger from the first knuckle down to the fingertips on the left hand. In the meantime dummy here tried to grab the bowl again with the right fingers (bare). Wrong move. Getting splashed with molten gravy was like getting hit with boiling oil that sticks so it burned until I rinsed the stuff off. Grabbing after the nuclear gravy covered bowl wasn't too smart either. I rushed to the sink to run water over my fingers and realized that I needed to keep them cold continually because they started burning again as soon as I pulled them out of the water. This one was more than your average burn and I use a keyboard for a living so having 7 roasted fingers was not something I was looking forward to.Just then it dawned on me that I had just recently gotten this burn gel stuff and decided to give it a test. Man this stuff is great. You just apply it to the burned area and tape it in place. You don't have to keep replacing it like you have to keep re-wetting a towel or keeping your burn in ice water. The gel pads immediately stopped the burning and easily lasted 24 hours without need for replacement until I changed the bandage the next day. If I had used a wet towel I'd have been wetting it constantly all night long unless I used ice through a towel and that gets messy. After using the burn pad I did not get any blisters nor any burn markings on my fingers. This stuff works for the minor burns that hurt like he11. I don't know about real serious burns but I'm sure they'll provide excellent relief until medical attention is sought. It claims to help reduce scarring. I don't know if I got burned bad enough to tell if I'd have had scars but would imagine it would help since it is sterile and comforting. My fingers felt much better the next day as long as I kept the pad on. I had cut it up for each finger. By the 36th hour I no longer needed them and the fingers felt fine again. I can swear by these. I could even use my keyboard with the pads taped to my fingers. The pad material resembles jellyfish flesh somewhat and feels moist and cool on the application side. Its a tad over a millimeter thick. Each one comes sealed in a sterile packet. This is great to keep handy around the house. You can even add a pad or two to your emergency kit if you have one.I highly recommend you keep some on hand.

These were amazing! It is soft, moist & cool!
I never had burn this deep where the air hitting the wound was painful. When I first burned my arm, I just cut a big piece of aloe plant & taped it to my arm. It was bulky & awkward but the aloe jelly stopped the burning.I purchased second skin & it was awesome. It is as thick as a gause pad but made of hydro jel. It's texture is like the inside of alow. It is soft, moist & cool. It has no adhesive, thank God. I just laid the pads next to each other until the burn was covered. I used a long sock to hold pads onto my, skin on my arm because my skin couldn't tolerate adhesive. When purchasing the new skin, I also purchased some stockenet to hold the pads on.I bought several products but they had adhesive. The pad wasn't big enough to cover wound so the adhesive was getting into the wound. OUCH!The New Skin does self adhere with it being sticky but I used the stretchy cotton stockinette to hold the pads in place then & wrapped over the whole arm with a a coban wrap to protect the arm.Great product! New Skin saved me from alot of pain.

These are amazing!
I love this product! I used these on a burn I recently received from my air fryer. They worked great for pain management (wound didn't itch), it never scabbed, and there's no scarring. Definitely recommend!

Hydrates and protect burnt skin but slides around
I cut these to fit on a burn about the size of a half dollar on my palm. I had to tape it in place and then cover it with an ace bandage. The healthy skin got a bit irritated from it, too moist. But the burned skin appreciated it. Next time I would cut the pad even smaller and try to really anchor it only over the burn... Although I hope there isn't a next time!

Stops blistering and pain from burns
Every so often when cooking I touch something and accidently burn myself. I know it’s bad when I feel the extreme pain and see a blister start right away.I have tried many different techniques over the years but this is my system that works the best stopping pain and stopping blisters and scarring.Wash and clean area. Cut out a piece of 2nd skin slightly larger than burn area. Use bandaid or medical tape over it. And then I ice it. I’ve multiple times during day and switch 2nd skin after shower or after a day. Use for a couple days.My husband ordered another company’s copy of this and I tried it since it looked easier to use since it was attached to a bandaid. I could tell it wasn’t working from the pain I was feeling and when I looked blisters were appearing so I quickly ditched that and went back to 2nd skin. I just ordered another container, I don’t want to run out and not have it on hand.

A must in first aide kit
I think these are a must. My first use of them was after I had a mishap with seasoning a cast iron and someone gave them to me when visiting their house. Made a huge difference healing. I bought them in every size. I will never be without these. Finding the right tape to keep them on you is hard, as we have latex allergies in our house. But we've had these and it's saved us a lot of paina few times as stupid kitchen accidents and occasional welding incidents happen too. I get sticker shock, but I've learned that no other brand or version will sooth a burn and heal it as quick. It has saved some severe scarring. Could not recommend more.
