Pelikan M205 Classic
Mine was a ‘Resale’ pen so paid less than €75 for the all black with chrome trim model. This is a great everyday pen with a fine Pelikan steel nib that comes out medium on paper. Flow is good, on the slightly wet side of neutral. Feedback is what you’d expect from a fine or extra fine. I keep this pen for journaling and its compact size works well for this. It is lightweight, but the plastic/resin body feels high quality.Nibs can be swapped and you could even upgrade to the 14C Gold of their M400 range (though if that’s what you’re interested in just get the M400).The piston filling system works perfectly and feels reassuringly secure, the ink window lets you see when you need to refill. Overall a good solid everyday pen.I got lucky on the value side of things but if you’re after the classic lines of a Pelikan and spending stepping up to the gold nibbled range. Also look out for the M215 which is similar but metal bodied with a bit of extra weight if you like that sort of thing.
