I very rarely give 5 stars and I gave this a five star.It's quite stylish, classy, and I love the feel of the soft leather.This notebook cover is really handy for just about anyone, a professional, a student, or a writer. Nice journal, but when you show a picture of something with paper and a pen included, and then the customer does not receive either, you cannot expect a 5 star review. Seller should show exactly what the customer will get.Nice quality leather and the journal is nice looking. I will use it, but will have to buy paper and a pen for it.

The pictures show different versions of this product, so I was hoping to get one without the pen loop and bookmark ribbon, since I am using it not for a notebook or sketchbook, but for a reference book, specifically a hardcover copy of Robert's Rules of Order Newly Revised, so that it will not get damaged in my handbag or briefcase when toting it to public meetings. My book is quite a bit shorter than this cover, but that's OK. If it really starts to bother me, I can cut it down and re-sew it. The important part is that the leather is nice and dry, without any waxy or oily residue that would rub off on my book. The leather is thick without being too thick to bend where needed. I am very pleased with the quality, I will definitely buy more of these for other books, and I do not hesitate to recommend this product, if you have need of a leather book cover.

Paid extra for this as it is advertised with a leather loop in the side to hold a pen. I was sent one that had no pen holder. It’s looks the same as the cheaper one with no pen loop. I am so disappointed. See picture I have uploaded

Shipping was quick, and the quality is fine. Leather is a little squished from shipping but should condition up nicely.However, the actual pocket sizing is significantly larger than the stated 8.25"x5.75". As you can see from the photos, there's easily an extra half-inch+ to spare all around, even well inside the stitching. The good news is, it's not too small: your standard notebook -- or even an extra thick one -- will fit with room left over. The bad news is, there's a lot of room left over. The book I had in mind is kind of dwarfed by this cover.Can you do a lot better for the price? Maybe, maybe not. Your call.
