If you don't use data much at all, just texts and some phone cals, this is great.
Works perfectly. Well, I haven't used it outside of the country yet, but it was an easy set up and activation. At first it would be very sporadic in connecting with provider and making phone calls, but haven't had that issue anymore and it's free. Just make sure you opted out of payment plan if you just want the free basic option.

FreedomPop Sim Card Error
The purchase I made on the sim card was bad because when I set it up the data was it working I enable data roaming and I typed in the link freedompop.foggmobile.com to set up the sim card but the data did not work so I just what someone to help me figure out how to fix this because I looked on YouTube and YouTube did nothing to help so if anyone knows how to fix this problem I will be very thankful.

ok for hangouts and email
Had to enter a credit card number and pay .01 $ is that expensive for free? The sim is on the 3uk network. While in the us, you can choose between att and tmobile connection. The IP's are not normal att ip's, they change very rapidly. Making calls over google voice with data didn't work for me. Sending hangouts ,checking mail, and steaming work great. The connection only says 3G. After a couple days of use I was getting 3 to 5 mbps down. I also got a free GB the first month with the free plan.

Execellent Deal !
This has been a great investment. Have 10 Grandkids, and have been putting them into these sims with the Free Basic Plan.Only issue is you need to look for details on the Freedompop site to ensure you're not opting for trials or extra services...Other than that cell text and data service has been great.I've been getting the Amazon Prime preferred deals on the BLU RD HD1 and it works Great with the 3 in 1 Freedom pop Global SIM!

Ok, not exactly free
OK, there is a one cent activation fee but besides that it is 100% free. Unfortunately, you must get the FreedomPop messaging app and the FreedomPop Voicemail app to have all phone service is set up. Sort of annoying to download an app. When I purchased mine it automatically set me up for premium service so remember to not buy any extra services if you want it to be free. You can only talk text and use a little data. Multimedia messages and voicemail and data rollover is not included. A product that you get what you pay for. There is an activation fee so not exactly free.

Great if you know what you are getting!
Worked great in my BLU R1 HD! I have completely free service and data now, its great. You don't get a lot, but its as much as I paid tracfone $20 for ever few months! The option to upgrade and get unlimited call and text is just the best. I will let anyone I know looking for that super cheap option to check out FP!

Free limited use land line with text :-)
Bought this for my unlocked att samsung s3. Works fine if you are in range of a good wifi signal, but since my phone is not byod compatable it won't give me a 3g or 4g cellular data capability. Audio quality is not great, and support is not the best for the free plan. Hope there is an update for any byod to be able to use it outside of wifi range.

Freedom ain't free, and neither is Freedom Pop's free account
After numerous charges by Freedom Pop for the "free" account I realize how they really make their money. There's no way to configure the account to simply stop using data after your free allotment, they will keep going and bill you the difference. Because you need their apps to use the service, you lose control of what uses data and when. I had three $15 charges in January. I even tried to use a limited use credit card to prevent billing beyond $15 a month, but somehow they still managed to bill me three times on that card. I'm impressed with their billing skills....I'll likely drop the service if I can't figure out how to keep their billing on a leash. I recommend you get a pre-paid account somewhere else. The activation process for this SIM was also a nightmare. I tried to add it an existing Freedom Pop account that had an initial SIM card, I think that is what confused them.
