Do u have to microwave this or can u make it with just using hot water like instant oatmeal?

I tried to make it in the microwave and it spilled over. In my experience, making it on the stove top produces the best results. Wait until the water is boiling, add Malt-o-Meal slowly, and don't stop stirring! When it's done, add butter and sugar (not too much) and it's the best! Best of luck.

Expiration date on malt o meal maple and brown sugar

I have never bothered with experation dates on our favorite hot breakfast cereal. It doesn't last long enough to worry about it. But since it is dry I would think it is safe to use even after the experation date.

Does it really cost $12.98 a box????? and if it does who would pay that much for a box of cereal no matter how good it is ??????????

I was buying it at $5.99 a box but when it went up to $12.98 a box I refused pay that. I have found that Winco Foods carries it for less than $6 a box. I believe that $12.98 a box is price gouging because you can hardly find it in any store. Go to Malt O Meal website and click on hot cereal. Then there is a sentence in red that says "Click here to search for Malt-O-Meal Hot Cereals near you". It will take you to a screen that asks for your zip code to find it in your area.
