Good Tarp
I bought this tarp to use with my other hammocks - the ones that came with the Hennessy hammocks I have work very well for me and the fact that they attach to the hammock ridge line make setup fast and easy. However, if you want more coverage, such as in colder weather, the Hennessy Hex Rainfly symmetric tarp is easy to hang and looks very durable. I like the fact that the guy lines are already attached and there is a pocket in which to place the lines when not in use. I know that with other tarps I've purchased, you have to make your own guy lines - this one is ready to go.

Stop buying blue tarps and get something that will last!
This tarp is amazing, still not convinced it's worth the price? I was always buying the Walmart tarps, you know the blue ones and after going thru several of those I decided to buy the more expensive silver ones in hopes they would last longer. Of course they always failed when the grommets ripped out and made the tarp useless. This Hennessy is great! It has pouches on the corners for the strings wich are included and preattached to all 6 corners. It folds up nicely into its pack sack and so far has been very durable with no leaking.

After the Harbor Freight tarps, go to this one.
Works well in all respects; for shedding rain and providing shade. Pitched in porch mode, it offers plenty of space for camp chores in bad weather. It is compact and stuffs into its sack easily.Despite the negative comments I've seen, the lines provided with the Hennessey Hex Fly are very nice. They are lightweight but grab well and tie off easily to tent stakes (sticks). Just as importantly - they also come off easily. Give them a try before discarding them out of hand.If you are an Ultralight camper, you'll want to pay the extra $100 for a cuben fiber tarp. If the extra 1 lb does not present a problem for your backpacking style, this is an excellent choice.

Great Rainfly but would recommend buying paracord and stakes! Great product for great price! Would recommend!
This rainfly is super easy to setup and take down! I bought it last minute hoping it would work well and it stood up to the rain all weekend with no problems! It stayed up nice and string and I had no places where it leaked or anything like that! Would definitely recommend this rainfly as it is relatively cheap and easy to use! Holds its own and does not disappoint!I would recommend buying some paracord as well to string across the trees you will be hanging this rainfly and then putting the rainfly on top of the paracord to give it added strength. That is what I did and it worked phenomenally! I would also recoment buying some stakes or something to anchor some of the points into the ground if there is not something to tie the anchor points on to.Other than that this rainfly exceeded my expectations and held up well in the rainy weather! Would definitely recommend for the price and easiness of use!

Love the built in tie downs
I bought this for a recent hammock camping trip. I love the shape and more importantly, the tie downs. My other rainfly just has loops, so I have random pieces of paracord tied to it. This Hennessy rainfly has them already attached, so it made things much nicer. It was sturdy and lightweight. Our first night in Northern Michigan was cool, windy and wet. I set this up as a dining fly, and then used it as a rainfly for the hammock. It rained all night, and I stayed dry.Definitely worth the money!

I used this rain fly over my hammock on a hiking trip across Isle Royale. LIFE SAVER!!! During the hike we had rain, hail, and wind for several of the nights I was on the Isle. No water seepage at all. The tie down points worked great! The size of this rain fly is much larger that some of the competition. My buddy who was hiking with me used the other brand and it was much smaller and didn't cover his gear or anything else. Very nice product and it took some hard wind and hail and did not show any signs of failure. I would buy this rain fly again with out even thinking about it.

The rain fly that comes with the tent is small. It is fairly effective in a light rain, if you are out of the wind. What makes the hex fly so incredible is that in serious storm conditions it's much better at keeping all of your equipment and yourself dry. The hex fly by itself is a incredible piece of gear. It probably could serve as a stand alone shelter if need be. On long days of wet weather, it's hard not to go a little crazy in a hammock, there just isn't much room to move/work inside. The hexfly more or less solves the problem providing enough space to cover your equipment, firewood, and so on while giving you some space to work and move around out of the weather.

Great Design, Great Buy
GREAT Coverage. I use it with my Warbonnet Blackbird XLC, it is enough to cover my hammock and a little more. Haven't had the opportunity to use it in rain, but I think it will perform just fine. Some great design went into this tarp. Every corner where there is a tie line going out, there is also a little pocket sewn into the tarp to hold your ropes so they don't get tangled. I LOVE THIS FEATURE.Pros:- Size is great- Lightweight and compact- The pockets for the ropes are AMAZINGCons:- none yet

Great for Backcountry.
Works great, big enough for different set ups and very good material.Held up in a thunderstorm!Has guy lines on each corner in a nice tucked away location. Ridiculously easy set up.Folds easy, and is relatively light, might be just too big for an "ultralite" set up - but the extra size and material strength may be worth the trade off!

I just got back from using this on a 3 day hike on the east coast trail, it was great. I could have got away with a smaller tarp but the extra weight is minimal and the extra rain or wind protection is amazing. Is tighter but this does still fit in the snake skins with the hammock.Id say go for it, its a decent price for a good shelter

Excellent rain fly!
Just got back from a trip to Japan and hammocked a couple of nights with friends. We only had the one rain fly and it rained two of our three nights. The fly worked excellently! It was easy to put up, covered three of us fully, kept us completely dry the entire night, and not once did the inside of the rain fly get wet or damp. Dried very quickly and packed up super easy! Was not disappointed at all with this! Definitely recommend!

Best hammock cover
Really the best hammock cover around. Lots of coverage and options to pitch, Not ultra light, but a good, durable compromise for a long service life.
