Loads of fun!
We just got to finally use our new Rubber Dockie for the first time this summer and the adults and grandkids had a blast! We bought the 9x6 due to size limitations. We only have a jet-ski, and don't own a boat so web need to bring it in the truck, then carry it to the beach (quite lightweight--weighs about 15-17 lbs). The tether worked great attached to the swimming beach buoy. It's sturdy enough to hold three adults with minimal water flow over the top. Lightweight kids can stand, jump, do whatever with barely any water getting on top. It's not slippery, so no fear of sliding and getting hurt, yet it's not terribly abrasive to hurt your skin. We had trouble getting it to lay flat after being in the box, so we flipped it over to the green side. At the end of the day, it was pretty flat. BE WARNED...this sucker is a task to get rolled up again! It took two adults (three would be best) to roll this and get the velcro straps around it again! It's quite difficult to roll tightly. We did have a lot of kids playing on this over an 8 hour day and noticed at the end of the day that there were a few nicks in the surface. They were minimal, and may have been caused by a buckle or something sharp. It does not seem to be an issue and I wouldn't fault the manufacturer for this. I don't know if they were there initially. This mat has great visibility, which is good because we had it in the boat area. I would suggest to sunbathers that they should bring a plastic floatie pillow if you want to lounge, otherwise you may take on enough water over the top to get in your ears and such. A small floatie would serve as a makeshift pillow. We did test this on a very breezy day and that could have contributed to more water ending up on the top, plus we had nearly 400 lbs of adults on it at once! With all this being said, we think it was a great investment and we highly recommend this floating mat! :-)

Bought this in 2018 finally ready to buy another
I wasn’t sure that this thing was worthwhile but after purchasing it I have learned that it’s really a great device and very popular with our family and friends. Unlike the traditional diving raft, it is very easy to put in and take out. That’s a huge feature for me when we’re packing up for the weekend. Also unlike dive rafts if you do leave it in birds don’t land on it and soil it another plus. But the cleaver ways it’s used really makes my day. It’s flexibility and it’s ability to slightly submerge where it’s overloaded make it fun. Yet you can still lay on it and sunbathe or talk that make it a hitUpdate. We’ve been using this at our cottage since the summer of 2018 -6 years of use. Over the years it’s held up pretty well. For the last few years it generally stays in the water for the summer and gets used on the weekends. If we’re gone for a long time we would take it out. At the end of the season it gets washed off, dried and rolled up for the winter. As it got older, it faded and developed some surface cracks. We would treat it with bleach but it’s getting a little ratty now so it’s time to buy a new one. The only issue with it has been the replacement of the elastic cable. Everyone likes it and it’s still very popular.

Great Lake Toy
We have a lake home on the water and I wanted a water toy for the adults. At first I thought I wanted an inflatable floating island and looked at many options however in the end I had too many concerns about a floating island’s durability and ease to transport it by boat due to its size. Also some neighbors warned that fisherman who like to fish by boat near the boat docks sometimes accidentally get their hook in inflatables. This led me to next consider floating mats. After researching reviews on a few websites this one consistently was rated as a top 5 contender. We received the floating mat and as expected it’s big but it was a lot of fun to use on the lake. We used the supplied tether to hook one of the rubber dockie to our boat dock. It was great to use. If you sunbathe on it it allows only a little water to get on the mat to cool you just enough. Some guests stood in the water and just had their arms/drinks on the rubber dockie and used it almost like a high top table. I also like that the mat is a bright Orange color so it’s easily visible. Lastly I like that the surface of this mat is comfortable. I have been on only one other water mat previously at a friend’s house and I found the surface rough on another brand. Rubber dockie isn’t slippery but it feels good on the skin and doesn’t get hot. The mat is huge and while I am able to move it around by myself after it’s rolled it’s taller than me and about 30 pounds. Very happy with this purchase and feel it’s a good value.

Amazing Customer Service
I originally bought this mat and unfortunately, did not see or threw away the tether attachment with instructions. So off we go to the island and we are all standing around wondering how the heck we are supposed to attach it to the boat?? Did they just not rivet out the hole big enough for a robe in the grommet? What are we to do? So we just looped the rope around the grommet in the mat and the kids had a blast! It is very sturdy and loads of fun to jump, play and lay out on. The 2nd outing did not end so well, as the grommet was pulled out of the mat and the only thing to do was to tie the rope through the hole.... well, obviously you know what happened. It tore through several inches of the foam because there was nothing there to protect it from the rope.I emailed the company and they promptly called me back. It was the owner of the business, Jamie. He is a great guy and he was very accommodating to work with and help me with my problem as it was USER ERROR. I have just received a new grommet and even E6000 glue to get my kids back jumping on the water... at no charge. He is a testament to small business owners who care about their customers and the integrity of their product.I know that there are many other options for this kind of water entertainment...but, if you are in the market to buy a water pad, you can't go wrong with Rubber Dockie. When it is time to replace, I will buy it from him. Also, if you are going between the 9 or 12 ft... go large. I wish I had just made the bigger purchase because your kids will make many friends on the water when you throw this thing out. You will need the extra space; trust me!
