3.5/4 sexy psyche and Eros
Book 2 in the dark Olympus series follows Eros and Psyche with a fake dating trope lots of mordre plots and assassination attempts and sex lots of sexI enjoyed the story and it was interesting as I like the characters in this . It did tend to feel a little repetitive at times and the smut wasn’t my kink, it didn’t really feel like a kink at all which is ok but nothing special

3.5 sstars
overall i enjoyed it. it is the 1st book ive read in the series, it is almost like each book is a stand alone in the same world/ diff couple. i would have liked a bit more angst. definitely straight from the beginning they both liked each other so there wasnt a build up to romance i expected and maybe i wanted a bit more reluctance or enemies to lovers feel. it not an insta love but felt in that vain. even with eros mother being a villain wasnt scary. i did see lots of potential couples mentioned so will look into other books which sound interesting. this book did touch on body image throughout and the female lead not always feeling comfortable with how people viewed her body shape, if that bothers you. i would have preferred without it,so i could immerse myself into the story without the added angst of body issues swirling around in my escapism.

A fun, compelling and sexy read.
Psyche Dimitriou likes to play with fire and looks good while doing it but has never had to go up against someone as unhinged and malicious as Aphrodite. When Psyche discovers Eros, Aphrodite's son, stabbed and alone, Psyche decides to ignore her first instinct to leave him to it and decides to care for him. The two have an instant and powerful spark though acting on it would be the definition of dangerous and foolhardy. Aphrodite's most hated enemy is Demeter and Psyche's mother. Their ongoing bids for power leave Aphrodite fuming when photographs of Psyche and Eros set off the rumour mill of Olympus into overdrive, showcasing them as the new 'IT' couple.Eros knows pain and usually dishes it out as Aphrodite's 'Fixer', but he is overwhelmed by the kindness and respect that Psyche shows him when he is hurt that when his mother decides that he must kill Psyche, he can't bring himself to carry it out. Eros has a low opinion of himself, though even he won't sink this low. Eros binds himself to Psyche in the only way he can to protect her - with an offer of marriage. They enter into a short fake engagement, but their passion and desire for each other quickly turn into deep feelings and hot and intense sex. Eros and Psyche are scared to look too closely at these feelings, especially as they think they are not good enough for the other. Their impending nuptials don't have the desired effect on Aphrodite as she puts another hit out on Psyche. Will Eros make the ultimate sacrifice for the woman he loves? Will Psyche decide that Eros is the one that serves to be protected for once and put herself in fatal danger to save him?🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Hades may be hot and darkly delicious, but the blond male lead character surpassed him this time. Eros is sensual, giving (cough) and burns for Psyche. I loved that Psyche was a curvy, vivacious woman that knew what she wanted and went after it. She wasn't a damsel in distress and was equal to her man. The tense action, thrilling romance, and incredible 'climax' hooked on every page. Overall, a fun, compelling and sexy read.

"You might be a monster, Eros, but you're my monster."
Electric Idol is the second book in the Dark Olympus series. Do you have to have read Neon Gods first? In my opinion, no BUT I would highly encourage it as some of the details weave their way in Dark Olympus. Now, I did a stupid thing when I read Neon Gods and actually sandwiched that between the first and second books in the A Touch of Darkness series (don't do that. Trust me). Even though that was not my best decision, I can say that I adored Neon Gods with a very high interest in Persephone's sisters. So... I was extremely excited for Electric Idol and it DID NOT DISAPPOINT!We follow Pysche (Persephone's sister) and Eros, Aphrodite's blade.Pysche is everything I love in a female MC - ballsy, relatable and all around a bad ass - even if she's not a dagger toting badass.Eros is... well, I want to first say that Eros is blonde. Stay with me though because you know what? Eros has CHANGED THE GAME in our morally grey favourite characters. Thank you, Eros, for helping me cease my quick judgements on blonde men in books. You have shown me the error of my ways. The book is filled with the deception we know and love in Olympus, an extremely clever modern day build of the mythological world, fake marriage and more time with the Dimitriou women (if only we could get a Callisto story now?)This is definitely a story I will be rereading.

Gorgeous writing, a wonderful retelling.
Psyche is a sweet but sensible Influencer, navigating the politics of being the child of one of The Thirteen.Eros does what needs to be done to protect his mother, Aphrodite. However when Aphrodite sets her sights on removing Psyche from the picture things start to get a little complicated.Electric Idol is a high stakes romp through the wonderfully rich world Katee Robert has created. You'll struggle to put it down, as you get to know these two well-rounded characters. And as if the plot alone wasn't enough for the romance connoisseurs among us, there's spice, there's forced proximity and a subtle twist to 'only one bed'!

SO GOOD
I love the character development. I came looking for electric idol after readings Neón gods. (I gave Neon gods a 4⭐️) and oh boy !!!!! I LOVED Eros . Even more than I liked Hades if that was even possible. Not to mention Pysch what a powerful strong minded character. This book has EVERYTHING. Romance , spice, plot. The history line is so good. It takes a hot minute to get around how this society works but Katee is so good that you don’t need to read Neon gods to enjoy this one as she will bring you up to speed without complicating the storyline. But I wouldn’t do it backwards since it has some highlights regarding Persephone and Hades current situation. My favorite so far from this series. The way this writer describes not just the passion but the feelings and intimacy never ceases to amaze me me. I read in one day. And once I started I couldn’t put it down. Went to sleep at 3am . THAT GOOD just read it 😂Enemies to loversClosed proximitySmut 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️Plot ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Love love love
I love this series! This book was so well written! The author did a great job with character development! I loved how Psyche was portrayed, and how authentic she made her. I loved the level of self confidence she had, and it was so good to see an author who didn't fall back on the "low self esteem" trope so often overused in everything, especially pertaining to curvy girls. This is such a well written book! I wish I could read it again for the first time. ❤

Love this retelling
Electric Idol is a retelling of Eros and Psyche and I have to admit I went pretty much blind to this story. I've read many Hades and Persephone retellings but I think this one was the first Eros and Psyche retelling for me and I don't really know anything about them.I think Psyche being a plus size and owning it was what really made me love her while Eros was a hot guy but more insecure because he saw himself as a monster. Eros has always been loyal, first with his mother and then with Psyche and it was just so beautiful to read about. He didn't think he was capable of love but the way he trusted his friends-- I just loved that.I liked that Psyche knew from the beginning what Aphrodite asked Eros to do instead of having to go for unnecessary drama later on. There's just something I loved about him being ready to kill her but because she was nice for few times, he decided to marry her instead. She knew what he was capable of and despite their mothers hating each other, they were just able to trust each other since the beginning and I think that trust and how Psyche believed in him, despite knowing the "monstrous" things he has done in the past made the romance so good.Aphrodite was such a petty character and a horrible mother but I had fun time reading about her. We got just a perfect amount of her in my opinion and she was the reason Eros and Psyche decided to get married, so I can't really hate her that much. I just hated her actions and not just her pettiness but the way she cared more about her personal vengeance than she did about her son, who has always done everything she asked him to.All in all surprising read! I fell in love with this story and marriage in convenience and fake dating tropes are often a miss for me because I'm not big fan of that "I love you but I can't tell you because we are just pretending" but secretly they're in love with each other. I've had difficult time to really get into physical books these days but I had such a fun time reading this. There has been so many books with "I'll leave you for your own good", so I applaud to this book for basically doing the opposite. Eros and Psyche never gave up on each other.
