Does not do a warburton farmhouse slice. You have to turn it.

Can you separate the browning controls on each side so you can have different levels on each side?

No. The 1 control knob operates the browning leve for both sides. But excellent toaster

Where are Haden products made? Are they 'quintessentially English'??

The Haden web site certainly gives the impression that their products are British. Even the box and instruction leaflet have Union Jack logos on them. Only the underneath of the box says the product is Made in China, Unfortunate to say the least.
