Q: can I just run the amp just from the monitor out, no mains, no speakers without blowing the amp? I want to just test the monitors at home.

You can run the amp with just the monitors but you need powered speakers for the monitor output. Or go into another amp and then to regular speakers.

Q: Will phonic s712 120/180 handling watts speakers (8 ohm) be usable with this amp?

You should have no problem using this amp as it is capable of 800 W out. Note that the amp requires Speakon connectors for the output speaker cables.

Q: Does this come ready to be rack mounted? If not, what item is needed?

The brackets come with the unit and need to be mounted on the PA.

Q: Can you daisy chain a separate amplifier with this?

Yes, there is a line level output that can be used for another amplifier
