Small-Highly Useful Tool-Have Cold Weather Environments For Weather Approx. Backup Survival Tool!
Many may perhaps not realize, but this is a more than highly useful tool! The US military used to issue similar to those stationed in cold weather environments (Northern Europe/ Asia, and Arctic...). It can assist in many ways with both ambient temperature approximation as well as with additional wind chill with the wind chill chart on the back! Thus one can ascertain, roughly, weather hazards that may impact activities and or level of dress in areas where a simple training exercise or outdoor cross-country ski- hunting-snowshoe- snowmobile-outing can in fact potentially turn into a survival situation very rapidly! The magnifying glass, in addition to being utilized to read a map or fine print, could potentially also be used to start a fire with sunlight if needed. The compass, although not precision, is good enough for cardinal directions, which can be more than useful in a "whiteout" situation or dense fog-limited visibility and as a backup should one loose their primary compass or means of land navigation, as well as other essential equipment! This is perfect addition to the M-65 Field Jacket and liner as well as M-65 Filed Pants and line (at amazon.com https://www.amazon.com/Rothco-M-65-Field-Jacket-Olive/dp/B00026LI58/ref=sr_1_2?crid=EX4BKULGN2LF&keywords=rothco%2Bm-65%2Bfield%2Bjacket&qid=1547875710&sprefix=rotcho%2Bm-65%2Caps%2C162&sr=8-2&th=1 AND https://www.amazon.com/Rothco-Vintage-M-65-Field-Pants/dp/B002PQVJUC/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=rothco+m-65+field+pants&qid=1547875772&sr=8-1 AND https://www.amazon.com/Military-Field-Liner-Weather-Trousers/dp/B00F3G8H74/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=m-65+field+pants+liner&qid=1547875826&sr=8-1 in order) that have good strong brass zipper systems that can be handled with gloves on (i.e. not flimsily cloth pull tab on small light-duty plastic zipper), or other such easily adaptable and rugged outerwear! This item can also be utilized as a small straight edge and would have bee great had a small distance measurement scale been added.Small but highly useful tool, one should have in extreme cold weather environments as both a quick weather-direction approximation tool and as a backup survival tool!

Good mini thermometer
For some reason I like to know if the temperature is to blame for how hot or cold I feel. The thermomer is roughly acccurate +-5 degrees and for its little size is perfect. Sometimes hard to read in the sun but doable. Mine had a tiny red mark on the inside of the plastic housing which apears to be how the thermometer was adjusted during manufacturing but the red mark doesn't bother me. The compass works ok and the plastic housing hasn't cracked.

It's very usable, tough, and easy to carry in several ways.
A ruler edge both metric and standard, or if only one, then metric, should be incorporated. So the compass side edge should be straight, and graduated as a ruler, and there should be a S. alignment tick mark to be used in conjunction with the printed Compass Rose and the Compass, for determining course. The straight ruler edge will allow accurate use with a map or chart, while providing means to measure distance from the legend or taken from mid Latitude. A straight Compass side edge ruler, is what's needed to make it Boss. I quick attach mine to my Swiss Army knife using a rope shackle I tied. I detach it for Compass use to get it away from the metal.

Not accurate temperature reading
I'm in a temperature controlled room with air conditioner set to 73. The scale on this gauge is almost too small to read. There's about 1/8" between 70 and 80. Best I can tell it looks like it says the room is 80. This item isn't worth using. Also, it's not returnable.

Handy, functional, and always available
I have one of these on every laptop bag. I never leave home without one. Imagine you are visiting a new city. You arrive at the airport, take the train into the city, get off at the station your business contact said to use. He also said, walk two blocks north and you'll find his office. But it's overcast and you don't know which way is north. But with this on your bag, you do.You can also use the built-in magnifier to find that splinter in your finger and take it out with your tweezers. (You do have a Swiss army knife, right?)And when you arrive at your hotel and the room is freezing or boiling, you can tell the front desk that it's frigging so many degrees in here.

Poor Construction
Received 2, the printed card fell off the first one when unpacking, second one cracked on key ring after 2 days normal usage… low quality standards exceeded…

Very nice quality light weight product. Great functional compass, thermometer, and magnifier
I don't know why some people are complaining about the compass. Mine works very well indeed, it's fluid in movement and points to north accurately. Perhaps some received a defective product or their compass got demagnitized. Temperature is also accurate, and magnifying glass is very useful. Three items in an ultralight weight package saves me extra weight in my backpack.Recommendation: Add Celsius scale too, which is more helpful is cold temperatures.
